Actually I think it's ultra lame to put into a supercar functions that any cheap smartphone can do, like this console Hamster was so jolly about. A supercar should be like Ferrari F40; built just for track times and only. Nothing that doesn't serve the sole purpose should be onboard. Otherwise it's not a real sportscar anymore, it's a cock enhancer for rich impotents who choose gold diggers over prostitutes because they're deluded enough to think it's more elegant.

It's the only car (and probably the only car) that I know that has an exhaust that comes out *FROM THE TOP* and looks good with it One of the reasons why it's my favourite car - it's unique and beautiful

I really love it when Porsche every couple of years just goes absolutely crazy and produces a car like this, the Carrera GT and 959 before it are just great examples when the boys and girls of Stuttgart roll up their sleeves and make some magic.

Unfortunately for cars, bikes still achieve higher RPM and acceleration overall because of their significantly much lesser weight, with only a fraction of the cost of a supercar, which makes bikes the true kings in a straight line, beating lots of high-end cars. Which in turn, makes any car with triple the weight but is almost as fast as a superbike, a pretty amazing feat itself.

So in conclusion, this costs lesser than the other two, performs as good as them, has better interior and looks pretty good. I'd take this any day over the other two only if someone gives me a small loan of a million pounds 😁

But the quickest time recorded so far is actually 2.2sec from 0-60mph, which makes it the fastest accelerating production car in the world besides it's record Nurburgring time. It's covered the 1/4 mile in 9.8sec, which I think is another production car record, isn't it?

Huayra is still the best

For some reason, I see the P1, 918, and LaFerrari as the big three (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades). 918:Zeus, P1:Poseidon, LaFerrari: Hades.

Ummm no the big 3 is the Konenigsegg one:1 Buagtti veyron vittesse and the Pagani Huayra know those are the real hyper cars except for the Konenigsegg one:1 that's a megacar

The P1, The 918 and the LaFerrari are all wonderful cars!

The 918 is an awesome car in every possible aspect of the supercar genre! May it be the acceleration, engineering, features, handling and most importantly the fuel economy, the 918 scores 10/10 in every field! My dream car!

Once I win the lottery, Porsche's gonna have $1.1 million in their profits. Edit: I'm surprised this comment is still getting attention. To be honest, I really don't care about modern supercars and hypercars anymore, the thought of not being able to maintain them yourself without threat of repossession sickens me.

even f you win the lottery you wouldn't be able to afford that car. a set of tyres are costing 20000 euros, and a normal inspection will be too at 20000 euro because they have to remove the exhausts, and the next thing is, if you want to have climate function renewed,, there is a chance of breaking the windshield, which is handmade and extremely expensive, too. and i dont even want to start talking about the carbon-ceramic brakes.

The big 3; the 918, the P1 and the LaFerrari. All amazing cars and on each car's video I see people comment that they'd take that particular car over the other 2. To be honest I can't pick, they're all such amazing machines in their own ways

I don't often comment on KZread, but I am compelled to do so as this is by far one of the best Top Gear episodes. And for anyone who hasn't seen it, watch the first episode of The Grand Tour in which they continue the story with this "Holy Trinity" of cars. The 918, P1, and LaFerrari truly ushered in a new era for supercars; the hypercars.

This is probably one of the best top gear episode, and probably one of the most beautiful car that I have ever seen on top gear

It really is an amazing car with an amazing price tag. You know... if this is what super cars are like now, I wonder how the definition of a sports car will change in the future.

After so many years after the upload and many times seen... the first minute still gives me pure joy

I really feel like it should be acknowledged that the editing here is absolutely spectacular! The filming and editing crew seriously outdid themselves here, they were the real stars of this show! They did excellent work to make these already brilliant reviews into awesome cinematic experiences for 10 minutes 👏

Top Gear, at its best, was genius. Love it. Can't wait to see the boys in their new show.

This is the best supercar today.

Possibly the nicest visual edits i have ever seen on a car review, ever!

This and the P1 are beautiful machines. The P1 is an exercise in sinister, and this is the usual Porsche mastery of beautiful brutal elegance.

P1 beautiful? No. P1 may look stylish or hyper or aggressive or fast it's not beautiful

"This is an important car" ... the best way to describe the 918

Does anyone remember when Hammond said he would use the Zonda R to compete with the LaFerrari and P1 but instead he used this? Must've been in a whole different class to those two.

it is, the zonda is in a limbo between hyper and super, it is faster than a ferrari 458 but slower than a p1 or this

The presentation they gave for this car… Absolutely incredible.

I miss so much these times and that three nice fellows for a long time.....

The Porsche 918 for me: Quicker launch, a launch as fast as the Veyron, Koeniggsegg One. 200 more torque than the P1 giving a faster launch from a corner. Top Speed of 345km/h, but cars can go faster than their top speeds. Elegance Luxury Alot more practical and futuristic but simple than the P1 and LaFerrari Can go close to 20 kms just on electric mode, nearly 3 times more than the P1 More eco-friendly than some Holden or Honda electric car that was named in this video. Most practical, best looking car. Sounds like music. Technologically advanced. Also capable to be used in your everyday lives. Sadly, the 918 and the other 2 hypercars are illegal here in Australia. Rating:10/10, 90/90, 100%
