One day you are turning a bread bakery into a house for your family while you are being a gardener on Stephanie’s Chateau Diaries KZread channel and the next you own your own chateau. And while Stephanie and Philip are trying to decide which bed looks better in a room, you are having to figure out how best to install the floors and put a roof on it. But I bet you wouldn’t have it any other way because when all is said and done there will be no mold or cement on the stone walls and you will know where everything is including where the noggins are. Congrats on having 500,000 of us invading your life.

I've watched a lot of these restoration/do it yourself type channels over the years and yours is the only one I never lose interest in. I think it's because you are just so down to earth and easy to relate to. You talk to us, not at us and you don't talk us to death because you've got work to do. You went from "nowhere to live" to "restoring a chateau while living in a yurt" in less than a year. This chateau is going to be so perfectly yours...by the time you finish, there will be no stone in that entire building you haven't touched.

Im similar but a tad younger, have been on a couch for a couple years, energy system under challenge, this channel has been a joy ! The way they are going this week raising floor after floor, I think you are in with a very good chance of seeing it reach its purpose!

I think it's because you would think no one in their right mind would have taken on a project like this - by themselves (mostly). And yet against all odds, here's Dan (who I firmly believe IS in his right mind) and jumped right in. He never seems to have a doubt that he can do this. It's actually very inspirational.
