    Yes, keep the ball position same as the irons, just ahead of center. I also found that aiming low and left on the follow through helped me strike the OL hybrids better. Now, they are absolute weapons for me, just like the 5-GW irons...all the new Radspeeds. BTW, the Radspeeds are so much better than the F7, F8, and F9's I played!

    Great advice. These SL hybrids are very versatile clubs. Easy for chip-putting from the fringe off the toe, punching out of trouble and very easy to shape either way. I tested this concept of ball position with my launch monitor. Verified! Too far forward ( as with conventional length hybrids) and the ball is thinned and low trajectory and smash factor drops.

    I just bought one because it was a good deal and I was willing to try something new, as my hybrid play has been poor. I should have hit the range with it first, but didn’t have a chance, so I played a round with it today and it was really bad. I hit only 1 solid-ish shot with it and it hooked a bit. I don’t typically hook. Everything else was a chunk or top. Thanks for this advice, I’m definitely not going to give up on it yet.

    @@jamesbramwell1454 Well I'm not a golf instructor but it sounds like you're striking the ball low on the face of the hybrid. Probably trying to "help" the ball get up instead of letting the club hit a little down and through. You might be doing the same thing with your 7 iron but it has much more loft so it might be scooping the ball up in the air. Might be worth seeing a pro and have him put a second set of eyes on you. A pro could help you for sure and maybe save you a lot of frustration.

    Hi Single Length School. I followed your suggestion, and it worked.. I have to keep the ball. center to center/back, and let the club do the work. I am starting to get a feel for the sweet spot and hot it should feel to hit the ball flush. My distances are 20+ yards longer with the one length, from pitch to 6 iron. 5 and 4 are about 10 yrs longer. Im stunned. I'll keep working on getting used to the clubs and come back with comments as appropriate. Thank you

After one driving range session and one game at the course, i enjoyed tremendously the irons but had trouble with my hybrid. But you pointed out rightly. My setting were the typical hybrid setting. Morning, I had a request. I've recently switched to Cobra One Lengths and and getting used to them on an indoor practice facility. I wonder if you could do a video of hitting a couple of balls with every club, but have a training aid that shows exactly where you have you ball in the stance with each club? Thank you

  • @SimplifyYourSwing

    @SimplifyYourSwing

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Naresh! In terms of the stance and ball placement, it will vary for everyone based on their swing. I recommend slightly in front of the center of your stance to start, then moving it forward or back based on striking. If the flight is too low, move the ball forward. If it’s too high, go back. What I do tell students is to use tape. Put one piece on the outside of your left foot, another outside your right foot, then one where the ideal ball placement is once you get close. Keep your feet inside the tape then just put every ball at the third mark. It will help a lot and is not expensive at all. In terms of videos, I have a few put together at this link: www.singlelengthschool.com/single-length-training the getting started video halfway down is the one I’d say to start with. Then you can always reach out via email to SingleLengthSchool@gmail.com. I’d be glad to throw more feedback your way.

    So are you saying cut the shafts on the hybrids to a 7 iron length as well?

  • @SimplifyYourSwing

    @SimplifyYourSwing

    2 жыл бұрын

    There’s more science and physics than just cutting the shaft. If you take a regular length hybrid and just cut it to 7 iron length, the results will be less than optimal. It severely affects club weight, flex and more. There are a few companies that do make hybrids as 7 iron length that have the correct weights, flex and more that should be considered.
