What do you think?! I like what Lexus has added but I’m disappointed the ambient light dims significantly while in gear. What about you?

We have a BMW and Lexus with ambient Lighting. Lexus does it right. BMW ambient lighting is very distracting and strains my eyes and I have now dimed to the lowest setting. IMO, Lexus knows how to do overal lightinng way better, also the switchgear lighting in Lexus is very soothing when driving at night compared to the orange lights in BMWs

I really love the lights and the redesign as a whole. This vehicle would definitely be at the top of my shopping list if I were in the market.

Nolan, I love these night videos; they are very informative. The LX is nice, but I agree that the interior lights should stay lit at this price point. Great work, as always!

I've seen probably 50 reviews on the LX 600, but this is the first night time review. Very nice I enjoyed this.

Lexus' decision to swap the simple logo badge on the LX's tailgate for "L E X U S", bums me out. On the bright side, the letters can be removed!

I really like these type of videos especially night videos, I definitely agree on the ambient lighting on the lexus i just wish it stay on all times. Keep on making these type of videos👏👏👏, Hopefully I can see the Toyota Sequoia 2023 soon.

I owned an Lx last 18 years , lx470 to 2 lx570s. Have a 2018 right now and one thing that bothers most is not having the split tail gate…as we have used that as a bench and even a small cooking table when we are traveling or out in the woods.

Just picked up my 2023 lx600 the ambient light stays on bright when I’m drive. That’s the only thing that is different from 2022

Nicely upgraded!! I'm going to say that the reason for the dimming in reverse is because it's easier to see out the windows at night without bright interior, dash lights. Great review as always 👍

And the reason for it dimming in drive? My 2020 Mercedes E-Class gives me no problem reversing at night or driving no matter the day, Lexus messed up big time here

Great review! I just love this thing! As soon as Lexus wakes up and puts a panoramic roof in this beast I'm getting one! That's my only compliant. I agree, they need to add the option of adjusting the brightness in the cabin.

it should have massaging seats for the front and it doesn't on any trim. 50k pickup trucks get massaging seats.

I think it should be a feature to adjust interior lighting, but honestly I don't mind it. I'm one of those who doesn't like alot of bright lights distracting me while driving. Just glad they added customizable int lighting!! 👍

I said it before, I say it again, Lexus needs to step up their info system, put a Panoramic Sunroof and Mean ambient lighting around the cabin with 64 colors. That is when it can stand against competitors.

All the things my 23 fullsize Range Rover had. Traded it for a 24 LX600 and am not shocked that Lexus doesn't. My 21 LX570 Sport which I traded for the 23 Range Rover was the same story. I have not noticed the ambient lighting issue on the 300 as I just got it, but not having a full glass panoramic roof, ambient lights dimming down while in gear is just so odd.

The lighting is one of the things that I hate the most about my LX. Why even have it if it shuts off when in gear. Lexus, send an OTA update and give us some real ambient lights!

I have kia I enabled dim ambient light while driving I don't like bright light while driving, it reflects on glass and distracting, but maybe Lexus ambient lights are very dim

Can you do a video of the GV80 or the 2022 Kia stinger GT2? Your channel does the best night time reviews/ overall review on KZread IMO. Great job as always!

I own one and it’s setup the same as the LX

I'm a lil disappointed about the ambient lighting but it definitely wouldn't deterr me from buying this vehicle in about 3-4 years from now

I love my 2017 Lexus LX 570, wouldn't trade her in for nothing, I may send her out to get a B6 level armoring.

Nice, but they should have put sequential lights on front and rear, Add a Panoramic Roof and share the length with the New Sequoia. They share the same platform but Toyota/lexus decided to make the New Sequoia more family friendly and chose the LX600 for Luxury buyers. However, note that the New Sequoia Capstone is going to be a bargain compare to this and come with the better engine for 30K less.

the SEQUIAO doesnt have the same 4x4 system.... lets get that straight nor the same NVH properties etc. or Lexus build quality and after sales experience

@@KuyaArbee i agree about the 4X4 system but majority of folk buying the LX600 will never use it and it will be a waste of money especially in the USA. Both have super build quality and the same sales experience if from a great dealership. So my point was again 30K more is much. Plus if you get the Sequoia TRD PRO, you will have same system with better springs and tires for off roding

@@beekaye1496 yea that’s the same for many Range Rover folks as well….. it’s not the fact that you’re going to use it… it’s the fact that you know you have it and can use it…. Same goes for ppl who buy HyperCars… their cars are capable of going well over 200mph… but they buy it for reasons other than going max speed, same reason why ppl buy luxury (body on frame) SUVs that can last decades and the Lexus LX nameplate is cemented for understated luxury and legendary off-road capability, amazing build quality, and extreme reliability, and why the landcruiser/LX vehicles are the vehicle of choice for many countries… when they need something to go ANYWHERE

@@beekaye1496 lol 😂 Toyota interiors are utter sh*t regardless! I mean look at the crown! We get a watered down version…. Powered Passenger seats are limited and other things are reserved for Lexus. Toyota is nice but a sequoia is no Lexus LX. I have an LX on order and ppl who are shopping for a car such as the Lexus LX600 aren’t cross shopping for a sequoia…

This LX looks stunning in Atomic Silver. A beautiful beast.

I agree about the ambient lighting, they're charging you for a feature that doesn't work 99% of the driving experience, then why have them? So, stupid.

I love it, too much light in a car kinda makes my vision weird especially if it's too bright. This is better.

Thats the way pilots fly too. My father, a naval aviator would turn the lights down so low in the car you could barely see them. He always said to much glare on the windshield. You only want functional things illuminated.

Just another reason why Lexus sells to mostly older people. They would increase their sales if they catered to all age groups. Older people don't want all of the fancy lighting and younger people are enamored by it. Make it dimmable and problem solved, while increasing sales.

Ambient light going off while driving is making me crazy what are they even thinking

wrong, the biggest disappointment is the pano roof. It is so small, and anything else cheaper and not luxurious has a bigger roof. Same flaw as the G-wagen.

I’m glad that Lexus actually tried to do ambient lighting but they need to study bmw and Mercedes’ because this is just completely underwhelming and it might as well be useless to provide a ambiance at night while driving because it dims.

The head lights are not very bright...

NEWSFLASH...THE AMBIENT LIGHTING WORKS!!! I just took delivery of mine on Wednesday, March 1st. Go into the "Settings" and increase the brightness all the way up. Problem solved!!!

Probably only the really big ones. Volkswagen once reached out to me about an issue in the Golf GTI and Toyota did the same with one of my videos about the Tacoma…but I’m sure it’s mostly buyer feedback and focus groups

Definitely not my main concern. I spent a very small amount of time discussing ambient lighting, but i did so because at this price point, Lexus is really lacking in that department. The whole point of the video is so people know what they’re getting with it at night. If you want to focus on the things you don’t like that’s fine

Honestly with the new pilot…. I would not consider even paying for this price…. The interior is Meh 🫤 and especially the interior space! Second row is atrociously small for the giant exterior size and also the cargo room with the third row up. I can get an rx500h fsport and 2023 Honda pilot for the price of one of these 😅

Ridiculous price

Now let me give a real review from someone one who has owned a 2014 LX for 9 years, and now the 600 VIP. What a useless pile of perfectly designed junk. The motor. Always seems like it shifts at the wrong time and at the top of the RPM range. Shifts are very crude and sticky and seem at the wrong time. Always sounds and feels like it needs to downshift but doesn't. Motor very underpowered and it lets you know all the time. Seats are very hard and uncomfortable, badly designed. If you use the fan to cool the seat it sounds like a shop vac on full power. Lane management garbage that you need to manually turn off every time. Cheap plastics that scruff at the slightest touch. Carpet so cheap that when vacuumed, loses the strands that stick out farther than they should. Bumpy and squishy ride no matter what the settings. The TV screens in the VIP model stick out so far back as to give the rear passengers claustrofobia. When you combine extra thick front seats, and smack a screen on the back that is out so far you know why. And about the vip seats. Garbage. The screen in the middle to control them is like the same type on the old LX and no one ever bought this SUV for that. Complicated to use. So all this and this after just 1000 km. I guess reviews are worth what you pay for them.. Nothing.
