In an age where computerised engineering and mass manufature has become the norm, it's great to see 'the little guy' bringing to this niche marketplace a cleverly thought-out gizmo that brings precision and efficiency to a manual process. Loved it 💖

I've tried about every tower and jig for Xs Wings (including the Beiter Tri-Liner) and found the most simple and sturdy to be the Spigarelli Spiga Marker 120X3. Aligns on the pin-nock pin so nock dimensions are irrelevant. Holds the arrow securely in alignment with thumb screws. No "drag" om arrow as it's removed. Easy to pack in tournament bag with spare wings.

Hey Jake Sorry for asking this question again in the comments but I just so desperately want to know the answer. We see some people who have been training with dedication for years and not achieving any significant results and some people who started much later and even train much lesser than other people and still achieve really great results and that is in under the same coaching. So apart from coaching and hard work what is it that determines success in this sport. Bring at the top of the game yourself I am sure you would know the answer. Thank you I really appreciate your work from the other side of the globe.

That pre tape tip has been around forever. Back when I was competing indoors, all of the recurve shooters had there tape already on their spin wings ahead of time. They could replace one vane while standing on the shooting line.

In figuring it out myself several years ago (before I switched to AAE WAV vanes) I would apply all of my tape to the shafts (all 36 pieces), peel all the backings from one arrow (3) and apply the mylar vanes of choice. Once done with the dozen, I'd apply the finish tape (also only at the front edge). Seemed to go by pretty quickly for me that way, though next time I fletch my compound arrows (wait what?!!?!?! mylar vanes on compound arrows while using 'plastic' vanes for recurve, are you nuts?!?!?!) I'll have to give the method in the video a go :)

I use a liquid chrome pen by Molotow with a 1mm tip for marking and dries very fast, shows up very well on my ACE's. Love the pre taping of the fletchings, will definitely try that. The Bohning tape doesn't work well for me some some reason, I find the tape with the XS Wings I use to be good and found it in a huge reel for not much money. Out of interest, on the jig, is the inside of each arm concave or just flat? If it was concave, sliding the arrow in would be easier as the arm would align to the arrow, regardless of the arrow diameter and not slip of to the side.

I use the Bohning tape for feathers and have wondered about trying it with spin wings so definitely going to give it a try with Jakes method. I’ve just ordered a Wing Thing as well as it looks great. Not exactly sure when it will arrive in the UK from Australia but will be trying it all out on my ACE’s with KSL Jet vanes and Bohning tape. I love fletching arrows and hopefully this will make a better job of spin wings.

So, a right handed archer would attach the fetching on the righthand of the paint markings. Left hand on the left of the marking? Or does it matter?

To curve pre installed, thick rubber fletching: double wrap a small but wide rubber band (medium tight) starting 1/4 way up the front fletching & wrap to the end, to hold the left curve spin (you formed), in place. While turning, blow dry fletching with even heat 3"- 6" above it for about 20 sec then blast with cool air for 10 sec to set the form. Remove rubber band, a level of curvature should hold on its own.🎯 Fletching thickness & material varies, adjust heat accordingly to prevent damage. May not work with certain fletching types. Test finished arrow for performance & curvature adjustments before proceeding. 🏹

They only work if a company will defend it. International patents are extremely pricey and equally pricey to defend. I don’t see an infringement based on other designs that exist. But if there was a patent filing I’d be interested in reading it.
