He says it is completely original, BUT this one didn't come with a 396 originally, it came with a 350 on the trim tag. Also, the front emblem on the grille should just have the SS without the 396. 67 Camaro's didn't have the 396 under the emblem.

That's correct. Only a SS350 emblem was used in the front grill on a '67. For 396's it was just "SS"

Correct. When the Camaro was launched in 1966, only the 350 was available in the SS. Those cars got SS-350 badging in the grille and on the steering wheel horn cap. Mid-year, the 396 was offered. At that point, they just made it generic. All the SS-350 and SS-396 cars just got SS badging on the grille and horn cap. So, as mentioned above, the SS-396 badge was never a thing and the SS-350 badging only lasted about half the model year. "Very Correct" except for the engine, transmission, gauges, and paint. Ugh. Unfortunately, this restoration looks to have made the same horrible mistake that everyone seems to make: they removed the fisher body cowl tag during restoration and then re-applied it, thus destroying the provenance of the car itself. The factory put these on with a really weird, nearly-impossible-to-duplicate cement over the rivets. Once this is defeated, we have no way of knowing if the tag is real or fake, because fake cowl tags have been available for decades. And, if we don't know if the tag is fake, then we don't know if this is "very correct" or not. We don't know if this was born a V6 black Camaro or ...

FYI; Should have an open element air filter on 396(this one started life as SS350 without guages). also incorrect trim rings on rally wheels....aftermarket? A beautiful car none the less...Hats off to the restorer!

The center caps look correct to me, if, indeed, this was a disc brake car. What is wrong with the trim rings? The standard 14" SS wheels they put on the 1967 were so ugly that it's pretty rare to see anyone keep them on an otherwise beautiful car. I really wish the restorer wouldn't have converted a 350 car to a 396.

Beautiful car guys.As Mr.Davison says below, it was an RS/SS 350 and the grille emblem is a Chevelle part. 396 Camaros had "SS" grille emblems. I've owned TWO Camaros that were equiped alot like this car( Deepwater blue w/ black deluxe and Butternut yellow w/ black deluxe) Blue one was 40K mi orig. and was retrofitted w/ M-22, 4.56's,2" hookers,Edelbrock/ Holley 850DP,huge Lunati cam,and lakewood bars. Ran 11.5's @117 mph. I let it go 30 yrs. ago and have regretted it ever since. Paid $2300.00 for it in 1984. Paid $750.00 for yellow one year before that and a couple months later, a guy made an offer I couldn't refuse . Both had "wood" wheel, U-14 guages, 4spd., rear defog, discs, and posi. Blue one also had tilt, fold down seat, and AM/FM radio! I've had lots of cool cars over the years but that blue RS/SS was one of my favorites.( after '64 red/red Corvette Fuelie coupe).

Nice car! I like when the salesperson said no Japanese parts on this car, to my knowledge most repo parts come from Tiwan and China.

The L35 is supposed to have a Quadrajet. This one has a Holley and the fuel line doesn’t quite fit correctly. I assume because the Holley equipped 396 was the L78 that had a higher-rise aluminum intake than the cast iron L35 intake. But that’s enough belly-aching from me. This car is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.

Looks like a burst shifter. Should be a Muncie shifter. Don’t think the tach in the dash was the correct one for a big block car. Be careful telling everyone it’s 1 million % correct.

I do not believe the car should have the deluxe interior per the cowl tag. As already mention it started life a 350 car. Nice non the less.

That's why I would not feel guilty when I built it into a fat bottom 800hp muscle car with nitrous and M50 rear tires after I stiffened the frame and traction bars...
