A few more quick tips on the Kenwood TS690S, this was bought for $125, off an Australian auction/ sales site, was definitely a lucky dip but if you approach the radio with patience, when sorted, it can be a great feeling of achievement for sure. I'm blessed to have both a TS-450SAT and a TS-690SAT. Wonderful compact radios that perform very well.
You got a great deal at $125.
Question do you know the ohm's of the mic gain potentiometer.I need one for mine but no longer made was going to get a aftermarket one
hope to be back on soon here lol
I am not familiar with the Kenwood 690, but with the display it’s not a polarising filter screen that is missing ?

I sat ii back 12 inches further, much better, it's my eyesight getting old, thats what my wife says haha....I ran it on a 40m net tonight, amazing when Im not sitting on top of it, really performed well to all the 30 odd people on the net, was a $15 load of fun for sure!!!!

One is for hf and the other is for 6 meters. And those are SO-239.
Got mic gain fixed but wide open and full power I get 25% modulation
