The cool🍍thing about the writing and the acting of this relationship is that it feels so real. Despite the curse making the characters look so close in age, they radiate this father-daughter energy which is absolutely unmatched. You never doubt it for a second.

The actors had the perfect chemistry for this type of relationship between characters so close in age. It could have been hella weird but I think they pulled it off beautifully

Imagine if instead of Josh and Ginnifer falling in love, it would have been Josh and Jennifer. That would have been hella creepy. For no good reason but I think that would have given the fans quite a scare.

Snow: "We want to hear everything about the date! David: For the record, some of us don't want to hear everything.... Snow: Was there a goodnight kiss? David: That for instance is something I dont want to know about. This whole interaction is gold😂

Emma seems to have a better relationship with her father. Her mother, theirs seem kinda like a stranded relationship.

I think Snow has a harder time coming to terms with the fact that she wasn't there to raise Emma than David does. Perhaps it's because growing up in the Enchanted Forest as Snow White and a Prince made them feel responsible for traditional gender roles?

No, that’s not it. Because David was very upset he couldn’t raise his daughter, he even wanted to forsake the entire kingdom to be able to raise her when they find that door that shows Emma in the pay. But whereas David cares for her like a father, whereas Snow kinda treats her like a friend/subject more than she does a daughter. All David wants to do is be her dad, because she’ll always be his little girl.

I agree that it's more that David just acts more like a parent than snow. But he also accepts that Emma is her own person and not just a princess whereas I kind of got the impression that snow was just always trying to mould her into that role. There is also the factor that emma is just much more like David in personality as well as the fact that while snow was mostly raised royal david and emma were both raised opposite as a shepherd and in the foster system, so they are bound to get along better simply because they understand each other better than snow does.

@@nemofish3504 I disagree. Snow is very protective and "get away from my daughter" with Emma. I think that David thinks of Emma as his little girl, but he is able to connect the daughter image to the adult Emma. I think Snow has a harder time connecting them. I mean, mothers carry their babies for 9 months and have a special connection a father could never feel, and then theycare for them and nourish and grow that bond. David only held her for a bit to put her in the tree, then she was 28. Snow carried her and I think that she still sees Emma as a child that needs to be taken care of. She has a hard time accepting that Emma is an adult, and with her own feelings of failing Emma, so it causes a strain on the relationship.

I lost my father on a very young age. That is probably one of the reasons why I loved watching Emma and David on ouat. The way their characters and relationship was built feels very real.

The Taco scene was hilarious. Henry’s adorable innocence, and Emma’s traumatized reaction immediately. Especially when she realized who she was telling to put a sock on the door next time.

I love Dad charming moments

I still love this video and how you captioned it perfectly. I also think Josh did such a phenomenal job with David's character with his so many emotions. Most of the time he is silly and laid back as he respects his daughter is an adult woman and he lost out on the baby years. I love how he tries to least give her a few memories of what it would have been like to have grown up with them. I just love how David just is always there for her the whole journey. Even when Hook had killed his dad and he found out and was so angry all of that disappeared when he heard his daughter was hurting. Then when Regina told him to go take a nap and let Snow come out when he had just woke up he looks to Emma and I knew he did it for her.

I just love the relationship between them. David always understood why emma had a hard time processing that her parents were a fairy tail. He was very upset to that u could not be there for here when she grew up. But he always understood her. I think snow white was selfish with her she could not understand why she wasnt happy to find her real parents. Yes she also understood her but its two parted. They alsof have a really great bond (snow and emma) but emma is a father girl. And i love David for understanding her.

They are definitely my favorite character and couple and I am big fan of their relationship

In the first scene, I wanted to hug and comfort poor Emma. She looks so sad

They have such a special bond. I love also emma and snow bond but I guess that they look more like old friends

David's hair is dirty blonde for her to inherit. Also, even if both parents had dark hair, there is still a chance that they could be carriers of the recessive light gene and she could still end up with light hair. There's also, you know, hair dye.

Nope, besides genes I always thought it was because of the anti-savior thing. Maleficent's hair is almost the same colour as Emma's and Lily's is darker like Snow's.
