I think this scene more than any other shows that rumple finally has become the man Belle was waiting for him to be. No more plots no more evil just a man who loves his wife and son.

You know, every time they just had a normal life, Rumpelstiltskin and Belle got along great. For hero and villain issues, yeah, those were always a problem. I think it would have still BEEN a problem at this point had there been more villains to face or magic upheavals. But Storybrooke calmed down, and so they could just LIVE. Travel and then settle down away from it all. And normal life doesn't have many huge moral quandaries. It has whether to go traveling or stay still; chores and quality time and love languages (obviously theirs is gift giving); about where to live, how to love, how to raise a child. And they're GREAT at that.

I never knew how much I needed domesticated Rumple until I got him

I love how they're paralleling the things Belle used to say to Rumple with Tilly's words😂and I actually enjoy it so much more cause Tilly has such a corky personality and unlike Belle, she doesn't try to enchant or be coquetry for him, and she just enjoys messing with him like the little girl she is to him😅and her iconic rabbit hat😅😅😅and what also made me laugh was when Belle said she's used to chaos but the moment Gideon threw one of his toys on the floor, didn't even heard its voice😅

Contented Rumple is 😊 got his priorities straight, especially about kids birthday parties. And Belle nattering on about just normal things is beautiful. Cannot get enough of them being happy.

Wait, did Belle stop being a princess when she became his maid, or is she still Princess of Avonlea, and therefore her son would be Prince Gideon? Cause I always thought she gave up her station to go with Rumpelstiltskin. She didn't go back to her kingdom when she left him the first time... Though maybe that's just because she knew her dad would've controlled her again (and she probably thought she would have to marry Gaston, since she didn't know about the 🌹)

Or at least referenced him at the end!! Belle could have said "Neal's waiting for you," and it would have been enough for me. I always hated that they killed him off. I love Neal and his interactions with his whole family (except Hook, how that rivalry played out was DUMB, they're both over a hundred years old! You'd think they'd be a little more mature). Such a complex character, just like his papa, and capable too in a unique way. They robbed us!!

@CatGold5047 yeah, especially since he was the whole reason everyone got cursed in the first place, they made him so important, made him so damaged and selfless, then said actually you know what? We're gonna kill him and add to bad hand he was dealt, by forgetting he exists, then to top it off have the man his mum abandoned him for, the man who gave him to his grandfather, end up with the only woman he's ever loved and let him be part of his son's life(who he only got to know for like 2 weeks at most)🙄

@@felicitymorris5548 I mean, I didn't mind Hook with Emma personally. And Neal didn't seem to mind him either except as a rival. They had known each other for a long, long time at that point, and Neal blamed Milah rather than Hook for abandoning him I think. Hook didn't know about Milah's abuse, neglect, or anything else about their situation, only what she told him and what he observed that seemed to confirm Rumpelstiltskin's cowardice, and later his cruelty. The reason I think this is because Neal isn't angry at Hook while Rumpelstiltskin is dying from dreamshade. He's heartbroken about his papa, yes, but the only acknowledgement he makes about Hook is to nullify the danger and then make sure they escape to Storybrooke. Then later, on Neverland, they are REALLY STUPID rivals for Emma's affection. But after she turns them both down temporarily, they are able to work together to get the shadow. Neal never brings up Milah, or Hook stabbing his papa, or throwing him to Pan that I recall. It's water under the bridge. And this is in a DRAMA, where characters are constantly calling each other out on stuff. I do get if you prefer Nealfire and Emma together, though. The fandom was pretty evenly split on those two. I just wish that whichever one they decided on dropping for Emma, they would've eventually set him up with another romance or something rather than killing the character off. I think they just wanted Dark Rumpelstiltskin for dRaMa and thought that was an easy way to get him 😡 Also, only a little related, but it's just SO funny. The look on Emma's face when Rumpelstiltskin calls her out on dating both Milah's lover and son 🤣🤣🤣 she's just like "....Huh." You know she's Rumpelstiltskin's protége cause he gave her HELL 🤣🤣🤣

And Henry deserved a dad!!! For CRYING OUT LOUD, he was fatherless for 11 years for no reason because Neal would NEVER have abandoned Emma and his son if he knew, Pinocchio and her destiny or not, and Neal dies right after meeting Henry?? I blame the Black Fairy, cause that better be a curse on their family that's the the cost of creating the Dark Curse or I just... I dunno, it just seems really unfair that four generations of Golds lose parents to either abandonment, forced separation or death, ya know? I mean I know he got Hook later as a step and he has two moms, but COME ON, both his dad and his other almost-step dad DIE (Robin Hood). It ain't right!! Henry went through so much 😭

@CatGold5047 I definitely think they were suited, it would've been better if he hadn't also been with Milah, purely because of Neal, just because it was really the icing on the cake of screw you Neal, which made no sense because he was so important. The Hook vs Neal thing was pretty understandable, though childish at times. I blame the Blue Fairy and Tiger lily, if they hadn't told Fiona about the prophecy, none of it would've happened and Tiger Lily was still Rumples Fairy God Mother, she still had the responsibility to watch out for him but she abandoned him and ended up living on the same island as his father and still never even checked in. Yeah Henry went through a lot but the whole line of Gold's did sadly.
