It breaks my heart that Snow has that hero mindset to be willing to put her people before her own daughter but it does makes sense given that she grew up a royal, it's what she was taught to do, to be able to become queen someday. And I for sure love that Charming's first instinct and priority it's Emma's wellbeing, it breaks my heart that he was robbed of the daddy's girl relashionship that I'm sure Emma and him could have had..

If the CHUMPINGS would have made good on their promise to Regina NOT to allow her to ever threaten anyone in their realm, the curse would NEVER have been retrieved, then initiated (remember, Regina didn't have the curse at the time she made the threat), they would not have f'd over Maleficient and then waste nearly a year handwringing what to do until they had no choice but to "put his daughter in a box and shipped her to Maine". I mean, Regina was as much "banished" as a free range chicken... she had her castle, STILL had her magic, had free passage to everywhere (I mean, during that whole year, she must have racked up frequent carriage miles! ), still had all the luxuries of royalty AND a personal guard. The Chumpings can whine and wring about the years they lost with Emma, but they created it by doing NOTHING. Snow blow should have arrested Regina for the threat and executed her.. like she said she would do. But they blinked and well, the rest is history. I get we would not have gotten a great series, but let's be honest where the mess began.

Like Emma swan, Moses, the triplets in Sonic Underground, Alex and cam in twitches, elyon Brown from witch, etc. (elyon is a lost princess who was sent away to earth by her parents because her evil older brother was trying to take over the trone)

And for the record, though this has NOTHING to do with this, Moses wasn't separated from his mother. Read the Book. He was raised in the palace but had his own mother Yechoved as his wet nurse/nanny. So it would appear that she used Miriam to get him to Pharaoh's daughter. However, in terms of the Chumpings.. they had a WHOLE year to put down Regina but they chose not to instead choosing to wring their hands and then Charming puts Emma "in a box and ship her Maine" (paraphrasing Regina).

Oh how part of me wishes David walked through that door😭😭💕

@@perporiap9364 How would that even work, though? He comes from a magical fairy tale realm and has spent his entire time in the real world in a coma. He had no id, no job, no recognizable education. He can’t just appear in the bedroom of a child in state care and just walk off with her. Do you know how hard it is for a foster family to get approval to take a foster child on vacation?

One of the most heartbreaking things about this scene is that they are not only sacrificing their own happiness to secure everyone else's, but they are choosing to sacrifice hers too. Also everyone ralleys around charming in this scene and hates that snow made this decision, but it is in her character she grew up a princess who was taught to lead but putting others first. It just makes me cry that they had to forget again.

I always felt like charming loved Emma more than snow as soon as snow had another baby and treated Emma the way she did actually was horrible and charming and Emma's daddy daughter moments are still going he loves her so much and would do anything for her

I think a lot of it is in relation to the personal responsibility she feels in how Emma’s life turned out and then when they did meet again, it wasn’t the reunion she expected. I think she hides away her pain, and that her and Emma are similar in that way. With David, it was also probably easier. He didn’t interact much with Emma before the curse broke.

She carries the responsibility of a whole kingdom and that the "curse" or being in charge : You can't think about only yourself and most of the time put yourself aside and make big sacrifices for everyone else. Also, she did say something around "we just have to wait a little while".... So she probably didn't expect that it would 20+ years...

Honestly I realize they had to come up with an ending that fit continuity, but it annoys me that they didn't see (or at least discuss) the option of taking Emma out of the orphanage, telling her the truth, raising her on the outside, and taking her to storybrooke when she came of age. Even if they dismissed it as not realistic it would have been nice if they at least brought it up.

No one from the outside could get into Storybrooke though except for Regina. So they would’ve been stuck outside and never able to get back in. Still though they could’ve kept their memories, put Regina in prison and waited 18 years.

That’s ridiculous. She was prepared to go to an unknown realm while pregnant and alone to protect her. She followed her through a portal with no regard for her own safety, and then again to Neverland and the underworld, leaving a new baby behind in the process-basically signing on to repeat the trauma of being separated from another baby in order to support her firstborn. She took on an ogre single-handedly and nearly overpowered a trained warrior when she was trying to cut down the beanstalk that would prevent her daughter’s return. She was wholly prepared to give up on ever seeing her birthplace again and make a home where Emma felt comfortable. David wanted to go back and bring his daughter who’d been through years of trauma and her son to a war zone so he could play hero again. They both loved her deeply, but his relationship with Emma didn’t have the same depth as her relationship with her mother.

I’m kind of glad this scene was revealed in season six, because after their unforgivably huge mistake in season four it was hard to sympathize with them. It makes you realize that even after they took maleficent’s baby, life wasn’t easy for them. They were still cursed for 28 years apart from each other, separated from their daughter, and even after that, one thing happened after the next especially when they’re both under the “ take turns” sleeping curse. They’ve had to put they’re kingdom first time and time again.

The Season 1 feels!!!! They did this episode of 'Once' so well.

Ooh! Some clips of Emma in this she has the headphones around her neck and then on her head when they turn back to her. XD

I've read that a decent amount of comments state that either David or Mary Margaret are bad parents (David for wanting his daughter above everyone else and Mary for not wanting to be with her daughter until she has to have the curse broken) but they were told that their daughter would one day break the curse and they had hope that at least Snow would have been able to go with her daughter into the Land Without Magic, had it not been for Gepetto then she could have gone if she hadn't gone in labour. This was a sacrifice they had to make either alter their daughter's past and therefore change the future of Emma, which could prevent her from having Henry and ever entering Storybrooke, or knowing they would see their daughter years later to close that door no matter how painful it was to do and know they'd have time to build a relationship with their daughter in the future. This was a hard decision to make, one that both cruel and painful but it was one that had to be done in order for everyone in the Enchanted Forest, to get their happily ever afters.

That’s true and even if they tried to bring Emma to storybrooke there’s a very good chance Regina would have found out and killed Emma. Or if they tried to go through the door, with her at that age she wouldn’t have trusted them and the foster family would have called the cops on snow and charming however I can’t imagine having to make that decision and what kind of trauma emotionally they went through. But in the end they worked on their relationship but it makes me so mad that they all were robbed of that joy of being together.

Imagine being a foster kid who suddenly has random strangers with no id outside of fairytale land or proof she’s their daughter show up in her bedroom? I imagine it would be terrifying.

I felt bad til they stole Maleficient's daughter it made me realize they had no boundaries if they thought they were doing the right thing.

even though I don't agree with what Snow decided in here, but still she grew up as a princess and someone that should put a kingdom and its people first so that's what, what she did in here! thinking about the future of not just one nation, but a lot of kingdoms(considering there was also Cinderella's kingdom and...in the Enchanted Forest) and in return, she got her reward in this episode, by finally getting up from a sleeping curse that kept her and her husband distant for such a long time, by the help of the nation💗that's what a queen and king should do, love and be selfless for a kingdom and in return they would also love you💗💗💗

I never understood why at least one of them joined her OUTSIDE of Storybrooke and just raised her to be the saviour... Like, the magic is inside of her, they don't know how to teach her but it would have eventually come by itself

No, they lived 28 years being miserable, unable to be with the people they loved. As horrible as it was for all of them (especially Emma), Snow and Charming had a tough call to make because they were responsible for the happiness of an entire kingdom, they didn't have the luxury of just running away. And I'm pretty sure Emma wouldn't trade Henry for anything because she wouldn't have met Neal if she was raised by her parents.

Rumple is to blame when they want to be a family with their daughter and he will say she will have to grow up alone to become the savior and that explains why she was still in the foster care system she went from home to home in her teens also went back to the foster family they were going to be a family until rumple stopped them and told them they had to let her go and go under the curse until she became the savior to break the curse by then it will be to late to be a family until they see her as an adult and with her son and all that time they wanted to be with her when she was 8 but rumple wouldn’t let them go to her and rumple is still an asshole for breaking up the charming little family and snow said on neverland they missed it all her first words her steps they missed her entire childhood because of rumplestliskin wanted her to grow up to be the savior without her parents so it’s not Henry’s fault if he wants to blame someone blame rumplestilskin so they have to use the poppy seeds to go under the curse for twenty eight years but they weren’t happy until they were reunited with their daughter years later no thanks to rumple

They had no proof she was their daughter, no way to return to Storybrooke or the Enchanted Forest, and no homes or jobs or identity papers. You think they could just walk off with a kid in state care or that an eight year old wouldn’t be terrified if two people suddenly materialized in her bedroom?

When they found each other snow told her that she only send her to the other world because she wanted her to give her best chance but she did not agree with that. She wanted to be in the curse because atleast then she could be with her parents. Snow is never going to understand that and David is. And thats all im going to say about there bond. Yes the love each other but snow is never going to accept that she could not raise her own daughter i understand that but David try's his best now. And snow Just want a hero daughter. Oh and just like she said here. ''Snow white would never let anyone suffer because she is an hero.'' But she did think of the consequences because Emma always suffered. She always thought her parents did not want her. So yes maybe she did the right thing for everyone except her own child. Emma needed her.

There is a huge plot hole. In season 2 we find out that the wardrobe could fit two and that the blue fairy originally intended for both snow and david to use the wardrobe but Gepeto wanted to save Pinocchio so then she lied that the wardrobe only protects one and the plan was to send Snow while pregnant with Emma and Pinocchio but she went into labour and Geppeto still sent Pinocchio so he didn't tell her until after the curse and she hit him.

The prophechy said that at her 28th birthady Emma would be reunited with her family and she would break the curse. If they were awake Regina wouldn't have adopt Henry so Emma wouldn't have returned.

She jumped through a portal after Emma, not knowing where it would lead or if she would survive over losing her again. And I don’t know how you could miss that many emotional cues, but every facial expression when they’re together reflects how much she loves her and hates that she’s suffered and longs to be able to change the past. They followed Emma into the underworld and left a helpless new baby behind not knowing when or if they’d return. Both parents. But the bizarre Snow hate is so extreme that people will ignore all the evidence to fabricate a scenario about how she doesn’t really care about Emma or how she prefers the new baby. 🙄

Is this before or after the curse was lifted because this doesn’t make sense to me

I wonder what would happen if Emma whent through the door 🚪

Couldn't they bring her to Storybrooke, give her a true loves kiss there and break the spell? or did Rumple make it only Emma giving a true loves kiss would break the spell???

I doubt a 9/10 years old kid would have loved two grown up adults that came out of her closet, got her and took her to God-knows-where and started talking about being two fairy tale characters that gave birth to her so now she's the saviour that has to break a dark curse and save everyone from an evil sorceress

I always wondered if they went to young Emma how the hell would they have lived financially I know it’s a show but that’s the first thing I thought where will they live and how would they get jobs and all without birth certificates and pay rent since storybrooke isn’t real I still don’t understand how Regina had a valid licence and certificate to adopt Henry lol

I just don't get why snow couldn't have remembered. Like, I get how David had to be in a coma still, and I can see why for plot reasons, but logically, only he needed to. Snow could have just faked it right?

Emma McKenzie I think it would be super hard for Snow to be awake, watching David in a coma for so many more years, and trying to fake not being awake to Regina. Regina seems miserable having no one to share the secret for all those years. Snow would be more miserable being awake than not ( Of course, things were pretty bad under the curse). I have to wonder if the curse would have continued to stop her from aging if she were awake. If she starting aging, Regina would definitely know she was awake.

This is not feasible, Emma. The curse put everyone in a haze, that is everyone repeats all the detailed steps everyday. If Mary Margaret isn't in this haze, it's 100% sure that she wouldn't repeat all detailed steps everyday without a mistake

Literally this destroyed everyone history and contradicts all because they never mentioned they found then before the curse was broken

I honestly think Snow was scared to be a mom and so she said this so she could get out of it

I don’t understand why and how they would keep going to Rumple for help. Haven’t they realized yet that asking the Dark One for help is making a deal with the devil or do those two just have little to no common sense or conscience? I understand that Rumple knew about magic and world crossing more than other people overall because he was the Dark One, but couldn’t Emma, her parents, Regina and the others solve a problem without going to the Dark One for help? It’s like they had no common sense or they couldn’t do things for themselves without the Dark One getting involved. I bet if the police had discovered Storybrooke and knew about all crimes committed by the people of the town, many of the starring characters would be arrested and in jail.

With only one episode the creators destroying the entire season 1 and every logic

They could have written something and send through the door atleast, to give her hope. Telling that they love her.

Yeah. I honestly think one of them could have gone with her and raised her. Or at the very least let Snow have remembered. This episode created about a million plotholes

I felt like David was actually a good guy and loved Emma. Where is honestly snows actions throughout the series is more villainous than hero like, starting with Regina when she was younger. Emma and Regina have a better relationship then her and snow

I'm not gonna lie. I'd say to hell with everyone. They are mostly adults anyway. They could find someone else's kid to break the curse.

I am sorry but its clear that Snow truly doesn't care. She doesn't even react when she sees Emma. You can feel David's longing to be with his daugher. Breaks my heart!
