It made a big impression on me seeing it in Goldfinger and the next year my parents took my younger brother and me to see it (among other attractions) at the New York World's Fair. It was a _big_ deal to my brother and me.

I was 10 when we went to see "Goldfinger". It was the first Bond film we saw and is still a favorite. I can still remember the first view of that DB5, blew me away. I had never seen such a car in my life. The impression it made lives with me today as I love Aston Martins. To me, they outclass every car in their range. Truly beautiful autos.

I was 8 and ditto to what you said. When I was 10, my dad took me to the memorial auditorium to see the Scottish marching bands. For the intermission show, they brought out and demonstrated the DB5. Second intermission, dad walked me down to the lower level and I SAW, TOUCHED, FELT, DROOLED, all over it. No kid today could match the level of excitement I had that day.

Wow...what a time travel. Back in 1965-66, the only "foreign" cars me and my American friends liked were the DB5 and the Series 1 E-Type (which we knew as the "XKE.")

@@GeneralLee1961.3 By the time Steve McQueen's classic film "Le Mans" was released, Porsche was already a fave of mine. By the 1980s, BMW was also on my list. And the 1985 video for "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" made the Austin Healy 3000 an immediate hit

I remember seeing the Aston Martin at "Frank Baker's Attic" restaurant in North Vancouver British Columbia in 1972/73. It must have been one of the copies as the location is not mentioned in the list of owners of original DB5. It did have all of the gadgets. I don't know what happened to it after the restaurant closed in 1973.

My very first movie ever, the very first time I stepped in a movie theather was when my Dad took me. I must have been about 5 years old. My eyes wsre glued to the screen and the car. To me Sean Connery is , was and will only be James Bond. The other thing that is weird when I look back was there not an age limit to get in back then and if so, how did my Dad get me in.

Yes I've often wondered who could have kept the car all these years without slipping up and revealing it. It's been nearly twenty years now.

They did not mention the smoke screen, oil slick or the ejector seat????? My friend told what purpose did the smoke screen have the other driver could drive right through it? I told him its purpose is not to stop the other driver but to prevent him from seeing what comes next!!!! Lol!!!! The oil slick!!! The other driver can avoid the oil slick if he sees it but with the smoke screen blocking his vision he will drive right through the smoke screen but right onto the awaiting oil slick!!!!!! Lol!!!!!

I once showed a picture of this Aston Martin to a co-workers and told me it was ugly. I told him it may not be as pretty you any of your favorite sports cars but it can "fight" better than all them put together any day of the week!!!!! It was designed for "battle" not just for show!!!! My co-worker who always had a "come back" answer in this case was silent!!!! Of course Starfleet's Delta Flyer can fight a lot better!!! Lol!!!!!! Imaging the Delta Flyer vs Goldfinger's men. Trust me the Delta Flyer would have "trashed" all of Goldfinger's men without any trouble at all. And the wall that stopped the Aston Martin .... The Delta Flyer could have easily flown over or before doing that it could have hit it with a nice photon torpedo and blown it to "kingdom come"!!!!!! And just one phaser hit would have killed Odd Job very quickly. Even his bones would not have remained!!!!!! Lol!!!!

What's the point of rotating number plates on an extraordinarily eye-catching luxury car, anyway? Like if anyone is looking for a rare silver-grey 1964 DB5 but lets go because the number plates don't match...

Watching this I got hit with having to go through 3 car commercials . The enthusiasm of old footage of the DB-5 followed by the complete letdown of cars sold today. You really think I'd buy a Nissan Rogue after pairing it with he all time classic Aston Martin? It felt as though I was waiting to see a video of Angelina Jolie and instead they throw on one of the ugly sisters.

They did find the stolen aston martin they had gotten a tip from an unknown person who said the car was in a climate controlled garage in the middle east somewhere so they tracked the chassis number on the car and recovered it and it was sold for a whopping 4 to 6 million at auction.
