On the Road: Wrestling away cancer

As part of our continuing series "On the Road," Steve Hartman meets a high school wrestler whose dad was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer. The teen took it upon himself to try to make the disease disappear -- if only for a moment.

i went to the same school as the opposing wrestler. i was quite younger than him but i remember him being so humble and he was praised at school for shaking the fathers hand. definitely a good school memory

That son will do great things in his life. What a way to honor your father. Kudos to the player who lost the match, the respect was there.

Hard to believe that somebody could actually "dislike" this video. Those people are more than likely the kind that have no room for human emotions, go strictly by calculated facts and believe that everything else is not worth looking at or thinking about. The love that this young man had for his dad is so incredibly powerful and evident. Perhaps those who can't see that are probably incapable of loving - or being loved in return.

What I would give to have a dad like that, or a dad at all. I have never had a dad or mom or a family at all. I have a unique survivor story to tell, coming soon via video to my KZread channel. Absolutely beautiful story.
