Its so peaceful watching you. I had two pet shop Koi....my female grew beautiful red lips and the rest of her was snow white. My male had a golden big patch on his back with black specles and a white head. Rejects l know but they hand fed. The pond was ok from small (3 ins? To 10 ins when they got stolen. I had them in a human corner bath in the garden in a natural planting with live daphnia and all kinds of pond critters to eat plus a big ceramic pipe to hide in. Someone took the pipe out and stole them. I hope they went to a better pond not some tiny aquarium. I never replaced them....my pond is happily populated with critters now.

Wonderful water jewels. Thanks a lot for showing them to us Brady. A lot of great Koi fish that are bred outside Japan's borders. Think there will be more of them in the future. Perhaps it may lower prices a little, because Koi fish have become too expensive for ordinary people. IMO. The last pictures where the Gray heron trying to break in behind the net. Hate them really. Here in Denmark, they are totally protected. They have become numerous in recent years, although many of them have lost the ability of migratory birds. They eat many of my fish every year and chop wounds in the big ones. I miss a good way to protect my fish from the Grey heron, without my garden looks like a fort.

Vinay Rawat Yes both Dimilin and Express IDI work very well on fish lice. You can also pick the adults off by hand and then dip the koi in a strong salt bath to knock back any larvae.

Always a joy to watch. Brady, how do breeders afford to feed so many koi in their care? Do they learn to make their own or just have to budget to buy commercial koi pellets? Do the best breeders use Hikari or that's too expensive on that level or simply a must for koi of that caliber ?Thanks

Hey Mac, most breeders I know buy Koi food in bulk 50lb bags, so they get a good rate on food for the year. Also with mud ponds the Koi are getting a lot of natural food.

14-03-2020.l have many questions, regarding your style of breeding do you inject males with other male sperm priore to milking,( and female with other chosen traits of female egg prior to breeding)and 1 spacific male to get only 100% male off spring fries.Norfish does this with it,s samon and trout. As for colour l like the 3 colour sanka but with a incircaled deep red with pure white body nothing on the fins. Please reply as l would like to perchase some eggs and semon if it,s possible?Thanck you.

I am not into computers and have watched quite a few of your videos, but do not see any contact info. I don't know if it is because you do not wish to be contacted or I don't know how. Your photograpy skills are very good and enjoy watching your videos. I am going on a trip thru the Carolinas in late September and plan to visit several Koi producers and some Bamboo farms. I am just getting started and want to visit some growers to hopefully build my facitities properly this winter, so I can start my own pond. At 73 this is exciting for me, wish I had discovered it a few years back.
