We have a Koi pond at home. It's qiuite simple. My husband will take good care of them. He sold to anyone of those who wanted to have this kind of fish because there were others who wanted to spend theirtime in caring this kind of fish.. It's a very nice hobby. By now we have fingerlings and fry.

@@bruh_why_like_frfr8810As an American, I hate to say it, but the British and Australians use "fishes" as the plural of fish. I knew a couple--he was a jerk American, she was a too-beautiful-for-him Aussie girl--who had a public set-to over this very thing. (They divorced the next year.) But added to the "fishes" are "shrimps." Brit-speak adds an "s." So, she had shrimps or fishes. No inbetween.

Nice colours but much smaller than the Koi I helped fish out of a man made lake in 2000. We caught 34 and the smallest was just over 95cms long. They had too be removed because they were destroying the edges of the lakes due to feeding habits. The guy that turned up with his truck loaded with large plastic boxes for water and the Koi would have made a killing that day. He got them all. Each container was 1200 long x 550 wide and 600 high. and some where almost too fat to go in while others had to have their tails to the side to fit. The one that had patches of red, black and gold on a white body was beautiful to look at. Literally looked like gold plating via electrolysis.

What beautiful fishies! And a cool experience watching a harvest! Do you know what temperature that mud pond is kept at? Also, great music. I know it's been awhile but do you remember the info on the music you used? I love the feeling I get listening to great music while watching a memorable video. It stays with me. Thank you!

Hello Kim Dawes, First of all Thanks for reaching out! Temperatures can be different each mudpond season depending on the weather. Some times the air temp rise Up to 40° celcius in the Summer period. How warmer the Summer how bigger the Fish will Grow. Let me Check the song... Does Shazam reconize it?

+Koi Partner Thank you for checking it out. I will just watch the video over and over! :D So Koi grow bigger the warmer the water? Mine is on average between 20 and 25°C. It's a natural pond created by continuously overflowing my horse water tank. It flows out of the area in front of the tank to a cattail area, down a small stream into my pond, which has a spillway that is in my fenced off chicken/duck/turkey area, then flows to my day lily garden. Constantly refreshes my Koi pond, but keeps temps from getting in the 80's F, but never below 50 in the winter.

@RR Extra Sad to say we lost three beautiful 25 pounders, 29-30 inches long this past summer. The heat of summer caught up with them, and I was too slow to add an extra bubbler. In the midwestern US, summer is our most dangerous time of year. Have never, in 30 years, lost a Koi to cold. We have to cover our pond with a huge reflective tarp, too.

Exactly. Americans buy these fish for $10,000.00 so they can brag to their friends and make youtube videos. I know people are buying fish for $1 and letting them grow and then saying," I have a $10,000.00 fish for sale". Only in America.
