On The Go dual bed deionizer
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Picked up this deionizer kit because I have bad hard water and it’s always a pain to fight the hard water spots, especially in the summer.
This kit is on sale right now and really works great. It cut my tds down from around 400 to 3. The water spots leftover were super clean and very minimal compared to my normal rinse.
Check out the video and see how small, easy to use and set up, and how well it work in direct sunlight where I purposely made water beads and left them to dry.
A guest appearance from Polish Angel Presto Detail as well.

Quick note: if your GPM (gallons per minute) are over 2 then you will be pushing water through the system to fast and may not be giving it enough time to pull all the solids out of the water. This will cause some water spots as u see in the video. Make sure you run less than 2 GPM and you will have no problems.

Quick question as I finally see someone bringing this up. If that is the case and my my hose is pushing more than 2 GPM how can I slow it down? Is there a piece of plumbing equipment I can buy?

@@joshuazatarain7967 yes, there are fitting that fit on the faucet with on off levers. U can open and close the valve or anything in between so the water flow is disrupted.

Great video Benji. Thanks for bringing these products to light. I've heard of "On the Go" Deionizers before but they are not a real well known brand like some of the other deionizers for detailing use. They look super stout though. The only thing that has kept me from getting one is getting past that darn resin refill cost. But the way you broke it down, and explained it, approx 63 rinses. That actually makes it sound more cost effective. Depending on how often you wash, 63 times is quite a lot and that should last a good while. Especially if you supplement it with rinseless washes. With that much, I could probably get close to a year before needing a resin refill and that is well worth it to get rid of the hard water spots. I have SUPER HARD WATER! It's nuts how bad it is. I can't wash my vehicle in the sun or it will have spots almost instantly. I always have to wait for shade or do it inside. That's the only way I can effectively wash my vehicles with limited water spotting. As far as Presto, I have never used that Polish Angel product but have heard good things about it. I'm going to get me a bottle of that on my next Polish Angel order. Looks like a great quick detailer for use in between using the Rapidwaxx. I could rotate every other wash between the two. I also believe there is some protection in that Presto. Not sure what it is, but they definitely have something in it. Either light Si02 or some form of Silica or Titania..., something. Glad you are liking the Polish Angel stuff. It's a fantastic line of products. My next order with them is to get a few of their interior products to try out and add to my collection.

Yes, ur right on all accounts. And the resin isn’t that bad if I’m doing it once a year or so. Makes life easier for sure. Very well built product here. Loving it and I am still getting used to it. Yes, they have some good chemicals in Presto for protection just like the waxes. 2-3 if I remember correctly. So it’s a nice in between the waxes or High Gloss. I really really liked it. And the scent is fantastic!!

As a fellow Las Vegan, how often are you buying resin refills? I do my final rinse in the garage, but even with flooding the panel with free-flowing water and blowing out the crevices, the water is still drying too quickly. I've been researching for a while on the economics of getting an On-The-Go system.

Depends on how many gallons u use and how hard ur house water is. I figured I get about 60-80 rinses at 5 gallons a rinse for my set up.
I’ve been on the fence about one. But the water here in SoCal is so bad it’s like in the 600 range. So I doubt I’ll get too many gallons out of it.

How long does the tank last you? I have a single tank and it doesn't last that long for me which gets expensive

How are you using you tank? Full wash, rinse only? What is your TDS? They have the chart on their website that tells you exactly what you’re going to get with whatever your TDS is.
If I want to do just the final rinse with this system does it come with like an on and off turn knob so that I can just use it on the final rinse without having to connect and disconnect? Thank you!

Also, using a 100 gallon setup with one pressure washer hose, do you think it will be counter productive doing just the final rinse with this system since I’ll be introducing hard water with the rinses before the final rinse? I’m almost thinking it may just be better to constantly run the system rather than just for final rinse for that reason. Thoughts?
@DetailingBreakdown
2 жыл бұрын
@@christophergaribay2166 u can buy or make your own bypass valve system for it. So u turn it on for the final rinse and off when not needing it. If u have really dirty water u will eat through the resin fast. That’s why we recommend only final rinse.
for the free spot I have to buy the two filters or just one and how many cars can I wash with that?
@DetailingBreakdown

They sell different kits. This one has 2 tanks that come filled with resin. How many gallons u get depends on how bad your water is. I get about 60 rinses at 5gallons a rinse. My TPMS is 440.

Super thick shaving cream foam (like in this video) is too dry and light to dissolve and carry away the minerals left behind by the rain. Thick super foam looks good, but a wetter, runnier foam works much better.

Ya, ur right. I didn’t even think about it. Just used whatever was left in the cannons.
I'd be worried about using a system that doesn't get you 0ppm since even a low level like 6 can result in water spots depending on the minerals causing that reading.

Hey John, you could lower the water pressure a little bit and probably get 0. If you're like me, just buy 2 of these and hook them up in tandem and you'll get zero water for about 2 years washing and rinsing your car once a week.
Will it also work with a pressure washer?
@DetailingBreakdown
2 жыл бұрын
U want around 1-1.5 gallons per minute running through them. This way the water gets cleaned. So depending on what pressure washer u use it may or may not. Remember, these should be used for final rinse as u will eat the resin up using them for a full detail

I have the budget system version of this. After rinse, I pour 1 gallon of reverse osmosis water into a pump sprayer and displace the rinse water with my gallon of low mineral water. Seems to work well. Also, the spray and rinse sealant I use after wash i think has some water spot minimizing chemicals in it that help too. Can add a small amount of drying aid wax or other water spot chemical into the 1 gallon sprayer rinse.

@@DetailingBreakdown Ya, I have several of those 1-2 gallon $10 pump sprayers for different tasks,wheel cleaner, pretreat cleaner, water, waterless. With the RO water and sprayer, i still have to dry the car, but with enough flushing with near zero minerals water like the video, then the car can just air dry with no residue. But I am usually applying some light coat of something after wash, so I am toweling the car a bit anyways.
