I played drums for rikk for years, probably when he was at his worst physically and mentally. It's great to see him healthy and happy. One hell of a turnaround from rikk of years past. Congrats to him!

Skinny Puppy only gets better with age, all those bands are a former shadow of themselves . Skinny Puppy , on the other hand are still as relevant , urgent today as they were circa the ´back and forth demos`. ´ WAaaaTCH CloooSLY !!!!` mfs - fukk yeah ! I know now what I´m listening to right away .

I'm age 16 (1986). My brother in-law (raised Southern Baptist) grabs a stack of my CD's. He starts to read the name of the bands: "Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Sisterhood, Tones on Tail, CHRISTIAN DEATH!?!" My sister blurts, "What is that, some kind of Satanic music?!" "No..." I confidently replied, "they're secular." "Oh," she snidely retorts. "One of those bands..." LOL I saw that it was "theater" back then. I look at Gitane and Rikk in this interview. Maybe a little eccentric for some, but ordinary people. They look their history and Rozz with fond memories and humor. But, they did make some classic music. I often felt that in their recordings, their music went deeper than even the well-known "underground" gothic bands of the 1980's. Gitane has such a beautiful haunting voice.

I am 50s and what can I say, always the best I remember every concert and follow to Christian Death for all life

The main question nobody has ever asked him is what guitar effects he used on Only Theatre Of Pain in order to get that macabre gothic sound that defined this record and made it different from all other records before and after. That's the main question, my friend, especially when the record ityself is playing in the background!!!

Rikk had his own style and used bar chords opposed to power chords giving it that “eerie horror” sound if you’re referring to the screeching guitar effect

I had the same question in mind. From what I've been able to gather it's just lots of Chorus, lots of delay. It's really nothing more than that. Just got to tweak the chorus to where it sounds just right. That and with the right amount of delay. Other than that well, just learn the songs.

It's great that people like Gitane and Rikk finally get a chance to share their stories, as a teen from the 90's being obsessed with Rozz and every project he was in I longed to know more- Now I hear they're making a Rozz documentary! Let's hope it's out soon.

Well said. I really hope the documentary happens, Rozz's story needs to be told and his art needs to find a wider audience, the world seems to finally be ready for who and what he was.

I had never heard of Dr. Strange before but he asks really good questions. Rikk and Gitane seem really nice. I've seen Rikk play before with the Adolescents and I loved his guitar playing long before I knew he played in so many bands I loved. Rock on, motherfuckers!

Great punk record shop, great dude, and he runs a great place. There’s a fantastic Thai vegan restaurant right down the road too. Used to go grab a cro mags or angry Samoans cd or t shirt and grab Thai food afterwards. Great SoCal spot.

No one can play it like Rikk.

I've seen Rikk play with probably a dozen different bands and he always does something amazing. He's one of my all time favorite guitar players.
