When I heard Olive was going to be a clippy, I said, "cor blimey!"

I live in the United States. I just found out about this show. I love it. It makes me laugh and smile. It puts me in a good mood.❤I ❤❤❤❤😂

The lovely thing about most of the messages left for On The Buses is how happy and pleasant the comments are.

Yeah it was a shame Michael Robbins left. He was one of the better aspects of the programme.

That ole sour puss, selfish hogger, nothing ever good enough for him and him only a train ticket salesman who couldn't afford a home for Olive and himself, constantly sponging off Mother-in-law and putting everyone int house down. He was a miserly, poor crow that rained childishly on everyone' parade. Could stand the ugly opportunist who was so stuck up he thought he was the only life form in the house he mooched off of. No self respect and no respect for anyone else. There, I said it. He was a black rain cloud that spoiled any glimmer of happiness that could have come into the household. Good riddance to filthy, rotten garbage. Don't know why the writers created such an ugly personality for this serious. He sucked every bit of joy out of everyone's life like a vampire sucks the lifeblood out of its victims. Olive was no catch, but he was plain awful and abusive to Olive and he took more than his fate share and grudged everything and anything he was forced to do to help the family he sponged off. Glad the actor moved on to hopefully play a more responsible, helpful, emotionally mature character roles.

This show definitely lost some of its vibe without Arthur, but i think they just about got away with it, but when Stan left, on the buses was history.

They should've offered mega money to Michael Robbins to stay but there again, I'm sure the others would've wanted a raise. He left to concentrate on stage acting but left a gaping hole. It just showed you how much he was huge part of the dynamic in that foursome.

When I did buses / coaches a maintenance fella used to walk around the depot first thing hitting the tyres with a hammer. Just from that he could tell if the tyre pressure was ok to allow vehicle out on the roads. Old school is sometimes best school. Response to video only.

Arthur was a great character and his dry humour was brilliant.

Luke I would put a cuvered path through the pebbles to match the path leading to the shed. Just to brake up the pebbles

To be a clippie in those days you needed a great head for mathematics. No access to calculators on board. It was a very important job.

The second i hear this music im transformed back to when i was sitting next to my grandad on a Saturday night eating fish n chips laughing watching the Tv .

Anna Karen really wasn't overweight when she came out from behind the screen, she looked normal, well she was a model wasn't she? I'm glad she got an episode that showed her acting talent but Stan & Jack never obeyed the rules.

Anna Karen died in her flat when it burnt down in her sleep in London. Apparently the neighbors heard her scream for help 😞..... Reckon she was shouting Arthur?? Rip Anna Karen

It means you can find the meaning of the word 'jarring' on the internet.

If I'm correct 'Olive' disappeared after On the buses' ended, whereas 'Blakey' went on to do a series set on the Costa Brava I think. I've seen a few episoded on YT; maybe someone can remind me what it was called?

Michael Robbins left the series after Season 6 to concentrate on his stage work again. He died in 1992 with prostate cancer.

Tiny with the best actor in the programme so is Jack restaurant the character Reg Varney and Jack that was the greatest characters red Ronnie and Jack the brilliant characters in on the buses and so was olive the fantastic characters and so is Doris Hare a red magnificent actors beautiful actresses in actresses Ann Carol the one who started and Carol the one who starred as olive shoes and magnificent actress
