On the A330 flight deck to Doha with Finnair
In this video we join Finnair on the flight deck once again, this time on the A330 for the flight from Stockholm down to Doha. We spend plenty of time up with the pilots at the beginning and end of the flight - watching how they do what they do and getting explanations about everything from the route of flight to emergency landing considerations over high terrain to what it’s like approaching busy Doha during the late night rush. We also hear from the pilots about the A330 versus the A350 - since they fly both, who better to ask? We also spend time in the lovely new AirLounge business class seat, one we’ve flown several times before. We have a nice dinner, take a little rest, and even chat to one of the flight attendants. Join us for this beautiful 6h20m flight down to Qatar and kick off the adventure with us.

Took this exact flight when I went to Japan (via Doha) not long ago. Absolutely loved their premium economy. So comfy and what lovely crew! Even tho there was delay, Finnair got themselves a customer for life because of pleasant the flight was. Very underrated airline.

I've been in this exact aircraft, in business class from Tokyo to Helsinki some years ago. It had the old business class seats back then but it was still really nice.
Great to watch and love Finnair been lucky to fly them a few times now great crews .
Some very professional work from Gabriel and the FR24 team. The videos are not clikbaity, straight to the point and overall very refreshing compared to some other aviation content out there. Keep up the great work!

I've followed the Finnair "train" to Doha a few times on FR24. I often forget Finnair flies to different places from abroad as well. 😃

I'd love to know how you go about planning your trips......from choosing airlines and aircraft to fly but also obtaining visas and arranging other protocols, permissions to film etc and everything else in between! Also, I'd like to see the flight number and date of your trips. So I can view, playback on fr24, please?🙂
I have flown this route earlier this year with Finnair and quite happy with the service though I felt that the meal was better on the connecting flight from Doha with Qatar Airways

Nice video! I had the same meal in Premium Economy on AY1985 two weeks ago. The premium economy on the A330 was not bad considering the sge of the aircraft

At the airport that I train for my commercial license at in Georgia has a 737-200 that looks pristine. It has a Cayman Islands registration so I of course doubt it flies. Every time I hold short I look at it and just dream of flying it!

Very rare vids from Finnair flight deck. Justplanes made many vids from Lufthansa, but Finnair's flight deck are almoust like Area 51. Some other vids was information that Finnair's policy not allow recording below flight level 100.

Since the Ukrainian war it is not a good idea to fly from Helsinki to Asia especially Thailand. In the past time they flew over Russia, not so today. Therefore a big delay

As soon as I hear background music, I`m gone.
Seems like the new A330 videos being made are more of comparisons between the new, shiny, fast and quiet A350 and the old fart smelling A330, wich it Isn’t. Not a fair comparison. And its a completely different aircraft. And i believe Finnair is mainly flying A350 at routes that are out of A330 range, due to the current political restrictions.

The a330 is just an a300 with improved wings and avionics while the a350 is a new generation of aircrafts made with different materials. It's like comparing apples and oranges

There are no political restrictions for Finnair to use A330s on any routes. As Finnair cannot fly across Russia to the Far East at the moment, it's impossible to use these aircraft on flights to Thailand, China, Japan, Korea and Singapore because the flight time on the longer routes is too long for the A330.

A350 pilots can fly the A330 and A340 due to a common type rating.

It depends on the company policy. All type combinations may not be available for pilots simultaneously. For example, a company may have A320, A330, A350 and A380 in their fleet, but each pilot may hold only two type ratings at a time, which can be selected from pre-defined combinations.
