Фильм және анимация
One of the oldest genres has long been obsessed with the pain, patriotism and catastrophic honesty of battle. In this episode, two stalwarts, behind such classics as Red Dawn, Born on the 4th of July, and Apocalypse Now, deconstruct the life and death realities of working in the war machine. I don’t agree with Oliver Stones politics but you have to respect his talent and experience as an artist and military vet.
Milius is the MAN
It's nice to see Milius give thumb's down to "Top Gun" as Stone says it's "well done". Stone seems to have no consistency in his tastes.

He said it well done but it's a devious film meaning its technically good but story wise and propaganda its bad.He is consistent
Always wanted to hear Oliver's take on Mallick.
Two outstanding scriptwriters having an outstanding conversation about an outstanding movie genre. Outstanding
I was there, what a treat. Love John Milius.
Assuming this is recent, it's great to see Milius recovered from his stroke.

Calmer than you are
It's interesting to listen to a director who tackles the realities of war and utter BS of the policies that get us in there and then this guy who believes in the mythology (to some extent) that get us into those realities. Although Milius seems more complex than that. His art is bigger and more rich then his belief system. Nobody who could write the fever of Apocalypse Now should be discounted.
Great interview,
2016? He really recovered well.
GREAT INTERVIEW ! SATURDAY 10/14/23 OCTOBER 14, 2023
Didn’t realize Al Haig had such a good sense of humor.
The short film Veterans at the end was a surprise. I thought I had accidently started a new video. Low and behold it was buried in the description.
goddamit. I wish we could have seen a real Conan 2
5:00 milius with al haig at mgm
Even with all the digital technology, films today still don't have anywhere near the sound design as you get at 12:00
1:49 Spoiler Alert.
We need less war movies like Platoon and way more like The Dirty Dozen and Where Eagles Dare.
