The first lady with all the kids is still in the news on occasion. No surprise she has more kids. The others are most likely in the same position, but with more kids as well. Most of the kids would be adults now but also collecting benefits since it's a generational problem now. Once one goes on the dole they all go on the dole.

You have to start some place & anything can be a spring-board for something that pays even better. It ONLY works though, if you sincerely want to get a job, instead of just having children. These mothers with all these children, need to make sure they care for them all well & make sure they stay in school & encourage them to go onto higher education, no matter what that might be...don't let them all fall into this same never-ending, hand-out, situation!! Reminds me of my mom. Some mom's just can't be happy for their kids, especially their daughters. Sometimes moms have an unconscious sense of rivalry with their daughters because they remind them of their "best" selves which they no longer are. So, whenever a woman's daughter improves herself in any way all the mom wants to do is put them down. At least when it comes to my mom. Lost five pounds? "Oh why is your gut sticking out so much?". Get a new job "Well you're not getting healthcare". Never has anything nice to say.

I plan meals and only buy that is neccesary instead of " "want" items. Pay bills on time and pay off credit card. Working at McDonald's for 3 years as my first job helped me through college, learn customer service skills, and how to be a hard worker in general. I am blessed for my time at mcdonalds. As a college student with no help a bit higher pay would have helped a lot though.

You should read what a so called career woman has been saying to me here in the comments. She has far more empathy for these people and others like them, and insists those of us who are ill and whose bodies won't work anymore after a lifetime of working that we bring it on ourselves and even those in their 80's and 90's should be working and have empathy for these people and god love them if they don't want to work that's ok. This chick has been attacking me all day. insisting I brought on my own breast cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis,and how those who are elderly or no longer able to work are drains on society and these welfare bums are not. I too feel sorry for the children here because they are being taught it's ok to live this way. Like I said, this Tontyanna has seemed to single me out to attack. I think the government should set a child rule stating go ahead and have as many kids as you want, but only up to 2 kids will be used when calculating benefit amounts. That would put an end to having lots of kids just to get free money. And even money for 2 kids should be limited. I'd rather see the government paying child care costs for 2 kids and the mother go to work, than paying the mother not to work. Even if it cost the government more money to pay the child care it should be done to remove the excuse, "I can't work because I'm a single mom with kids." I've been a single mom with 2 little kids and guess what - I worked full time. I'm sick to death of people living off of the taxes of hard working people. Lazy, lazy, users!!! Cut the money off and miracles would happen - all the sudden people could work!

Yeah, she wasted those peelings...if you are going to peel potatoes that way, at least wash the peelings well & put them on a greased cookie sheet & make chip snacks from them!! A lot of these people could learn a lot from watching much older people & how they never wasted anything & how they worked hard, if not outside the home, then inside, making their children's clothing & taking in work from outside the home too. Both of my grandmothers worked hard all their lives, not only caring for & raising responsible, stand-alone children, but making sure they didn't waste anything & made the most of what they had, even managing to save for things, in the process!!

So we live in Australia.. this year 2023 our 23 year old son announced he wanted to move to the uk and start his oe.. he arrived on his own on the youth mobility visa. He had paid for an air bnb room until he found work and a home. He did go with savings. We werent dumb enough to send him without money and we know if it got bad he could come home. He had a job within 4 days and 7 months later still there doing plumbing maintenance. Something he has never done. And he now has shared accommodation in Wimbledon. I ask him what its like in comparison to here.. he thinks food is really cheap but everything else is expensive. And he sees poverty everywhere. But he also said his boss was desperate for workers and could hardly get anyone especially locals. And before any one says hes gone over and stolen jobs.. hes contributing to a tax system that he has no rights to himself.. and that goes towards these benefits for those locals that didnt want to work...

Many, many years ago I knew a girl who was left on her own after her mum passed. She had to be put into foster care at age 12 or so. She was in school full time like every other child her age, but as soon as she was legally old enough to work (16?), she found a job at a restaurant. She left the foster system by age 17 and worked 3 part time jobs just to pay rent on a small 1/1 apartment, pay utilities, and put low-quality food on the table. Three part time jobs were not enough, so once she was able to save enough for a deposit for a landline (that was all there was in those days---no mobile phones), she accepted a fourth job doing telemarketing on her hours off at home on her own phone. She lived alone, hand to mouth and never had even one child. By age 20 she met the man she would marry and married at 21. She went back to school and eventually earned two degrees. They paid for all of the tuition and books, etc. They knew how expensive it was to raise just one child and send him/her off to university, so they never had any children. She and her husband were never wealthy, but they owned their own home and travelled a little. They earned everything they ever had and never took advantage of anyone, and never broke the law or did anything that was dishonourable, disreputable, or disgraceful in their society. They were clean, quiet, good neighbours, too. The moral of the story is you can choose a self-respecting, worthwhile life no matter how disadvantaged you may be, or you can choose to exist like these people. I know plenty of animals that have more dignity, intelligence, and class than these people. I feel sorry for the four legged animals that have to live amongst these two legged ones. These are soulless, vacuous, trashy wastrels.

I admire people like that. My mom had a similar life, but a bit rougher. She had jobs, never finished school, was in the foster care system and expected to be self-sufficient in her teens. She married and had me. But her life has been up and down to this day: working, marriages, divorces, job hunting, moving, saving, scrimping, paying off debt and, yes, needing a bit of help from social assistance for a couple of years until she could find a full time job. Not everyone finds success so easily and quickly. These are the people you're not seeing in these shows, the ones who are honest, hard working and just needing some help for a bit. They would never agree and I doubt the show would find them interesting enough and don't piss off everyone. That's what this show is about.

That mom who was hating on her daughter for finding and honest job and trying to break her spirit was just soo digusting!!

My mother was a teen single mom and I had to grow up with her milking the system~she slept around, was caught shoplifting makeup, she took me and my sister to doctors and tell them that we were mentally ill so that she could get documentation for SSI benefits which of course she partied with when I was 17 i got hired by a 7-11 store as a cashier and was so excited when I told my mom she hit the roof because it meant that she would lose the benefits that she received for me. She was arrested the next year for writing bad checks and I found out that she had stolen me and my sisters identities and ruined our credit~she went to jail i was sent to a live in community center, got a job, worked full time, bought a car and have never been on benefits now my mother is close to 60 she's no longer attractive she's diabetic because she's fat and is living in a broken down trailer~because of her abuse of the welfare system when she was younger she can receive zero benefits now she is looking for me to support her and guess what? It won't be happening

In the U.S. welfare benefits don't pay anything. I was a single mom, left by a shiftless boyfriend and I was on welfare for a few years cause my dad & his girlfriend refused to babysit while I worked. "We're not helping you. Raise your kids on welfare," they said cause they KNEW if I worked & felt good about myself that I could get out of that crappy little town & actually be somebody my kids could be proud of. That's actually what I eventually did. I was able to move to the Cincinnati area where I waited tables and I made killer money (averaging about $22 an hour & that was 30+ years ago). When my daughter complained cause mommy had to work, I'd just tell her, "well honey, mama doesn't HAVE to work. We can get welfare again but we'll have to send Brutus (our dog) back to the pound cause we can't afford to feed him. I can wash our clothes out in the tub again and you can forget getting new toys & coloring books on my payday." They must dole out ALOT of money in the UK Cause life on benefits in the U.S. is freaking hard!

Firstly 👏👏Well done MarcyRaye.. I hope you're as proud of yourself as you should be.. I'm from Ireland and being really honest, I made a very conscious choice to leave employment when my son turned 6..I was a single parent, and didn't realise how much my child was missing me/missing out on when I worked. Financially we were marginally better off, but, he didn't get to go to sports and extra curricular activities.. The guilt ate at my soul. Eventually I made the choice to leave work (I was doing 70 hrs a week at the time on minimum wage work).. I don't regret it.. I was needed at home. The benefit package allowed for us to live on a smaller income but still afforded us to live securely. I do feel for American single parents.. It seems like a very difficult life with very little support. I absolutely would never have considered leaving work if I couldn't have managed on benefits.. But yep, benefits in Ireland (and the UK) are VERY much liveable on if you're contented to live on a small income. I admire your determination over the years however.. No one can take that from you ❤

I hear you, but it also isn't your parents responsibility to raise your children either...a lot of parent do choose to do this, in order to help out their children, wanting to better themselves, but they are the lucky ones. Every woman needs to make her partner wear condoms or take birth control, if they are going to have intimacy with a man at a young age, or before they are able to stand alone, financially!! That way, you won't be left holding the bag, if the man doesn't stay around; you also won't wind up caught up in the welfare system or on unemployment. It's harder these days, than it used to be, for young people, but back in my day, the mid-late 60's, you took a part-time job, even before you graduated high school. When you graduated, you either went to college or used your high school education to start a career working somewhere...some place that offered retirement benefits, health insurance, sick & annual leave. Some companies still offer those benefits, but some don't any longer. Education will always remain the most important thing anyone can have, in order to stand alone, financially!!

What's not fair is that she has 11 kids and expects working people to pay. I wanted a big family, but knew I married a man that was more interested in drugs and alcohol. I had my tubes tied when my 2nd child was born because I got pregnant twice on birth control. I worked one job, two jobs and three jobs to support my family until I retired at 62. I never took government benefits. That young lady is not independent she is dependent on the government. I was independent because I did whatever it took to not be on the government dole. I will never see this type of mentality except as leeches because of what I know I did to take care of my family and what we did without. I definitely didn't go shopping and get my nails done.

'What do you want me to do, do you want me to just work at McDonald's?' well lass, from the look of you, it seems like you go there every day anyway, so yes, you might as well get a job there.

I work for $14/hr. I buy my clothes at thrift stores. I buy groceries according to what's on sale, and we grow some fruits and vegetables. I have the cheapest phone plan and cable internet/tv package the provider offers. I seldom go to restaurants, movies etc. Our house is old and needs repairs. We have learned how to do basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. "What do you want me to do - just go work at McDonald's?" YES! And train/study for something better at the same time. I went to university full time while working at Walmart and raising a child as a single mother.

+Lep P I worked in the 80's and 90's for not more than $5 an hour...and raised two children. Never owned a car...walked to all my jobs.Had one at 10 hrs at nite and 8 during the day as well as a part time one and was in my 40's and 50's !!! Now living on my Soc Sec on $700 a month !I wore all thrift store clothes....still do....I did without so that I couldput a roof over my children's heads and food on the table. Truly I believe in the US n UK ...after2 children they should be cut off ... case closed !!

I'm a penny pitcher as well making every dollar stretch . Shopping sales price matching every week never eating out . My kids wear second hand clothes my clothes are old years old but we are happy and have what we need. The only government aid we receive is for my disabled daughter . She is constantly seeing doctors for treatments and surgeries and I'm so great full she can get the care she needs.

I grew up in a very economically deprived housing estate in Scotland back in the '80s and '90s. I ended up making it to university, getting a career in finance, and eventually owning my own company. Watching this is depressing for me because I grew up among this. Even if you work a little bit you can do better than this, these are literally just lazy useless people.

Most families are lucky and grateful to break even at the end of the Month yet she’s insisting on having £2,000 OVER HER BILLSor she won’t agree to working?!? It would be infuriating. I know some people on welfare who are very house proud and you wouldn't know they were on benefits from the way they behave and take care of things. HOWEVER, they are a drastic minority. Not to mention, they often bring crime with them. If I drop half a mil I don't want to worry that drug dealers (or as they showed in this video) professional thieves skulking about near my house. Especially since you can't own a gun in the UK to keep them out of your OWN home.

Yeah, I own my own home, but I don't have cable or TV...it's too expensive...I eat modestly, but healthy & I don't ask anyone for anything, if I can help it & if I have to ask someone for something, then I pay them...that's only fair. I'm 75 & have been widowed now for 30 years this coming December. Life was never easy, with losing our 8-month old baby daughter, when we were in our 20's...then dealing with cancer 4 times, from my husband's tour in Vietnam, during the mid 60's...he was a career soldier then, but the cancer wound up taking his life when he was just 51 years old. Life wasn't easy, when he was in the service either, but I would not have traded being the wife of a career military man for anything...it taught me so much about life & how to get by, during hard times. I am still forever grateful for my life & all the lessons of hardship I had to learn...such an invaluable & beautiful life I have lived.♥

They can afford cigarettes, nails done, tong piercings, tattoos cable TV, and cell phones oh and pets they have to feed. Hello if they can afford all that they don't need help. I say make them all get a job and then we help, but I think everyone of them can work. My daughter was 18 when she had her son and had worked hard to support him on her own. Now he's 3 and she has her own place . And no money or food stamps from the government, she does get housing help but it is based on her income to how much she pays a month and she pays 400 a month. I'm very proud of my daughter, she is working hard to provide for her son on her own.

Mark R. Yes there is a better way, it's called starting at the bottom and working your way up. It's called going to college, learning a trade, or go to any sort of technical school. Do something and be productive, don't make excuses or use the "leaders" as a scapegoat for personal problems. The "leaders" are not there to coddle us nor should they mandate what businesses do regarding their pay. Besides, any minimum wage job is not meant as a career, it's a starting place and a stepping stone and that's all it is. Your pay will increase in time as your skill and experience increases. Yes it sucks, but you just deal with it and make your situation better over time. By the way, I have no problem with welfare/benefits to people as long as they aren't abusing it and are only using it temporarily until they have found gainful employment. We all do need help sometimes, but in the end we should be self-sufficient and take pride in what we do.

Where i live maybe you can get enough for a room, not enough for clothes or cigarrettes. For the needed they offer dinner, not money. If they miss more than 3 days of the dinners they lose the benefit

My husband and I are the same way. We needed food stamps for 3 months and we felt like failures, we have 3 kids to feed so we had to ask. We had some unexpected medical bills. I felt like people were judging me and always looking over my shoulder. I got a job that made double what I was making and we got off real quick. My husband went to college and just graduated. No way we are ever going back to that low time.

If you live in the United States or any other country that has stable jobs and the government is not abusing your rights, then you definetly do not need to be on welfare unless you are handicapped and if you become a single mom, there should be a limit like 1 or 2 children limit if you have 3 or more no more welfare...but help on finding a job...it should not be this complicated. @@rogerdean5313 In the beginning I did, mostly because I was fighting so hard to hold onto my identity, my career and active social life. I’ve accepted my limitations now and I know that I need support but I still feel better about or “more deserving” of the assistance I receive based on whatever time and energy I can volunteer to the community. I’ve never felt that I was entitled to disability payments but being a taxpayer in my country I felt like my government had to provide some kind of support for when I needed it most.

I despise paying taxes because of this. I have 40 percent of my earnings taken from me on threat of jail to pay for this BS. It would be in my best interests for us not to waste money on these critters

I’m an American… our welfare isn’t the same. But holy fuck if I don’t sweat my ass off as an electrician to let my taxes go to these people. If I were British I would be sick to my stomach.

"What do you want me to do, go work at McDonalds?" Yes, that is exactly what we want you to do. If you think that is insulting or you feel you are worth more than a McDonalds job, then go get a better job. If you can't then you aren't worth more than it and you should work on yourself until you are.

That comment makes me think that they think that they are better then people working at McDonalds. OMG They truly are lowlife scum of the earth. And what is really sick is, they actually seem proud of I. I'm usually not judgemental, but if I saw these people walking towards me, I would cross to the other side of the street. What kind of parenting are all these kids getting? What kind of future do they have with THESE parents.

How can any of them complain if you don’t like your apartment fix it up paint cheap and so is soap and washcloths and brooms. I’m beside myself that people can sit on their ass and do nothing and then complain about how much they receive what the rules are give me a right go to work.

This angers so much! I migrated to the UK with parents who were nurses, we all worked, paid our taxes, when hard time hit, we got nothing! No bloody help! Some can't speak a word of English, but their English gets perfect when they get to the benefit office, others are like these people! Thank God I returned to the Caribbean 11 years ago! Best decision I made! Better quality, of life, sun sea and sand, running my own business! Don't know why my parents took us to the UK in the first place!

Benefits are to HELP people. Not to take care of people. Ridiculous.

Lady whinging because they’re not giving her more money on the dole, she says they are barely surviving. She sure hasn’t missed a meal by the look of her.

Im a stay at home mother. My husband makes 6 figures and i dont even get my nails done, posh hair treatments, i dont drink at bars(or drink period), i have the same clothes for 10 years. Im stunned by how irresponsible others live.

What a supportive mum when her daughter gets a job and gets off benefits telling her it's not enough money and she should face reality and stay on benefits. Awesome. Way to go mom.

That's why the whole benefits system is so dysfunctional & why there isn't money for the people that actually needs it & DON'T have a choice.. and on top of this you have immigrants who comes to the EU only to live on & scam for benefits - that's why UK, Sweden & Germany were & are soo popular for them. Immigrants who haven't paid a cent in taxes thinks as it's THEIR free money. And it's their right to get it.. So there have & is a big influx of even more the same shitty mentality.. that also scams the system for even more by faking different issues, diseases & dysfunctions.

Disgusting. No integrity, no dignity, no conscience, no shame and ignorant, uneducated, entitled, ungrateful, vulgar, low class users. I grew up extremely poor. The sounds of my little brothers crying themselves to sleep because they were hungry still haunts me. We lived in a little shack where in the summer we could hardly sleep because of the intense heat and in the winter it was so cold that water would freeze in a glass in our bedroom. Of course, people could see we were poor, but they never heard it from our lips. Even as children, we seldom complained. We were lucky to have a few changes of clothing and one pair of shoes that had to last the entire year, but our mother kept them clean. We were clean. Our little home was clean and not one vulgar word was ever spoken. Mama used to say that being poor was no excuse to live in filth. We all had our chores. We used wood and coal to heat our home. There was no running water. We all had our chores to do and we did them without anyone telling us that we had to do them. There were no birthday cakes or birthday presents. There were no Christmas presents, but when my oldest brother and I were old enough to cut a tree from the forest, we did have a tree for Christmas. We had no money for lights or ornaments. I made ornaments from pine ones, shoestring berries, and paper ribbons. If daddy had a good year, we might get some candy and oranges. We were so thankful and we gave thanks to God. We were never angry. We always had hope. We loved each other with all of our hearts and we respected our parents. We never blamed anyone or thought anyone should be responsible for us. We had dreams and goals and we understood that one must work to change the things they do not like, but above all things, we trusted in our Lord and Savior. WE NEVER RECEIVED ONE PENNY OF GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE. We made do with what we had and when we didn’t have it, we made do. Times were hard, but hard times made us all the more stronger. We persevered. Today, we are all educated and live very well. My brothers either own their own businesses or work in government. I am a professional musician, singer, songwriter, and part time model. We are active in our communities and give back where and when we can. I volunteer my free time to counseling abused children. Yes, I am a Christian, but I certainly recognize people who are lazy and have no ambitions in life. God doesn’t want us to be vain, but he wants us to have enough pride in ourselves that we won’t allow ourselves to become victims. The Bible says that a man who will not provide for his family is worse than an infidel. Furthermore, when a woman has multiple partners and keeps bringing children into this world expecting someone else to provide for them, is just as shameful as a father who will not take care of his own children. It is child abuse to keep bringing children into this world knowing there is no structured family… no marriages, or numerous failed marriages with child, after child, after child. It is not fair to the children and you are not teaching them good habits and/or life skills. Children learn what from what they hear and see and experience. They learn by observing. I’ve always found that if someone’s life is a mess, a look into the home they grew up in is a good indicator as to why they are as they are. Is there order and cleanliness in the home or chaos and filth? It’s a pathetic excuse to say that you can’t work from home, because the other bum won’t be quiet. Seriously? Learn some respect and discipline! And, the woman with all the kids … so entitled and so ungrateful.

Julie won’t take a job unless she clears 500 quid a week after expenses. Everyone’s dream!

Living off of government benefits isn't supposed to make you proud, it's supposed to make you humble.

yahkneenah yea interesting statement. I see it here in the US people gettin on section 8 housing and I guess they expect to stay on it or idk how it really works but most government housing complexes I've seen go abandoned eventually.
