I was one who said don’t paint it. Your instincts were correct. It looks fabulous! I love every choice you made and it looks perfect in your dining room. We’ve done a lot of our own home updates, painting, etc, I pivot a lot and it’s always worked out. I’m also a lot like you. I do my best to use what I have and save money but if I fall in love with something I buy it, within reason of course. My favorite furniture and decor items are items that I’ve had for years and decades. I did finally buy a new dining table to replace one that we’ve had for many years and it showed. I decided I wasn’t going to refinish it even though it is solid oak, just wasn’t loving the style any longer. I loved yours so much I bought the same exact one from WF. I love it and so does my husband. That sucker is heavy!!!!

Here's what I like about you. Your work is not shoddy. You take your time to do a project neatly and with care; as in thinking about the edges of the cabinet door will need painted too, for example. The way you refinished the cabinet makes it look so much better. It looks rich and even more expensive. So glad you did the top exactly like you did. Btw: where's hubby's liquors? :)

Love the makeover.😍 I painted two pieces of furniture black a few months ago. I used Sherwin Williams Emerald paint. No sanding or priming needed and it self levels so no brush or roller marks left. It’s expensive paint but so worth it. Sprayed the hardware gold also. Amazing what a coat of paint will do to change the look and update a piece.

Anna, your buffet looks so amazing, like a brand new piece, what a transformation and matches your coffee table perfectly, it must be the camera, it does look grey not black but as you mentioned the camera does not give you the exact color. Seeing how you did it gives me confidence to try transforming some pieces I have. I agree you should have painted the piece, especially due to wear we really could not see! You are so creative and have great decorating vision! Love it!

I’m new to your channel. I think black is one of the best accent colors I have in my home. I love how it “pops” next to wood and other materials. I’m thinking about painting my 3 piece wall unit black. Glad you painted it. It’s beautiful!
