I think Hero would be mad at Sunny at first, but eventually forgive him.

It really hurts me the way that Sunny and Basil hid Mari's death. The others were living in guilt and wondering "why didn't I talk to her, I could have done something" etc. etc, but it wasn't even their fault. It makes the truth scene so much more impactful, because you realize how much the others were struggling during the four years sunny was gone.

Even when he's not showing overt grief, he's just not as confident in the real world as he is in the dream world. Part of it is that Sunny imagines Hero as the group's cool big brother and, well, all of the Headspace characters are distorted by Sunny's biases (for instance, Dream Kel is pure comic relief and doesn't have Real Kel's emotional intelligence and huge heart,) but part of it might be that Mari's death was a big blow to his confidence. The more I think about it the more convinced I am that he'd take a long time to forgive Sunny, if he ever could.

I hate when people say Hero is average, he's one of the more explored characters in the friend group and I love him so much

Two things come to mind when I think about Hero's character. The first is him going to Sunny's house. While I do think he wanted to spend time with Sunny I also think he wanted one last chance to be close to Mari as evidenced by him greiving at her piano. Knowing he'd never get another chance to be this close to her. The second is I think he went down the route of becoming a Doctor not just because of his parents but because of what happened to Mari. Knowing the pain of losing someone he loved, he knows what other families will feel when they loose a loved one in hospital, so a chance to try and save them that pain is a victory to him.

I also think part of the reason is that becoming a cook/ baker (I forgot which) would be too painful for him as a career because it would remind him too much of Mari when they’d make food together

I need to believe Hero forgives Sunny because I cannot handle the idea that he doesn't

I think Hero would be the last to truly forgive Sunny. He suffered and blamed himself the entire time and hearing that not one, but two of his best friends hid her death, and that Sunny himself killed her would drive him insane. And framing the death as a suicide just led to Hero suffering even more. Hero had the closest bond to Mari, maybe even more than Sunny to an extent, so I couldn’t see him forgiving Sunny that fast.

Good video, regarding the revelation of the truth to Hero and the others, im pretty sure they will forgive Sunny, not just because they've been reunited and promised to not leave eachother again, but because they will eventually realise that Mari wouldn't want them to hate Sunny, especially because she feels guilty for having neglected Sunny's feelings at that time, and if the friends acknowledge that i dont see how they could be at peace by not forgiving Sunny like Mari did.

In the end we can realize that hero is a pretty kind guy ,he was eaten by the regreat of not spending enough time with mari and understanding how and why she did that end , and when Kel tried to cheer him up making him cry in the end he did realise how people really cared for him ,so in the end he came out still feeling regret but this time he definitely want to help more people as possible making everybody feeling loved and cared ,in the end i think that he is gonna forgive himeself but it may gonna take a while to forgive sunny

In conclusion, Hero is Giga Chad.

I really love hero, as I myself suffer from major depressive episodes. I really love how he's depicted to be 'perfect', yet he still has issues like this. He's so realistically written and I just love him. Great video you made there 👍

i speculate about the true ending of this game a lot and ive normally seen 2 sides of hero's reaction to the truth. either extreme understanding and forgiveness, even to the point of treating sunny like the victim instead of himself, or absolute rage and i seriously do not know which one i like better hero being forgiving and sweet is so in character and amazing but at the same time imagining all of the grief and guilt he felt over the past 4 years just explode out of him leading to him absolutely detesting sunny is just such a cool look at the character

i think to a degree knowing the truth might be a massive weight off heros chest and i do belive he would forgive sunny and basil, but he would need some time. i genuinely think hes too mature to hurt them like is sometimes suggested, even if he might want to

I genuinly cannto believe this has so little views, probably one of the best omori character analysis I´ve ever seen, keep up the good work

i think its so messed up to have your gf gone by her own hand and trying to think in the past if mari showed any signs of struggle or sadness that you couldnt see only for it to never be anyones fault. like your memory of your gf becomes tainted in sorrow and things connect more into her made-up depression only to need it all washed away cause it was an accident.

(Very morbid comment, expand at your own risk) ...I highly, HIGHLY doubt Hero would forgive Sunny and Basil. If I was in his position, more than likely, I would let out all four years of hate and anguish directly into the injured boys. After all, they took someone very special away. They killed her, and I wouldn't care if they tried to explain further, they would be as good as dead to me. Think about it carefully. Think about it from your perspective. You are only just coming out of several years of severe depression and mourning, only to find out that the person you have lost was killed by one of your best friends, who then framed their death as hanging. You would only forgive them if you intended to follow in your lover's footsteps. Why would you have any other reason to than to hurt them as much as possible? To make it seem like you genuinely forgive them for such a horrible thing, giving them a sense of relief, only to absolutely crush them forever by doing the same. But that isn't so much despair as it is pure hatred. The absolute desire to cause them as much pain as possible. I can see Hero going that far. He'll forgive Sunny and Basil, but he'll be the one falling from the hospital roof, as soon as he leaves the room. He would be so absolutely ruined that he may see no other way. But you can bet he'll hold absolutely nothing but abhorrence for Sunny and Basil from the moment they finish speaking to the moment Hero's skull hits the pavement.
