I really hope some of these VR accessory developers can get signed on with major publishers (Microsoft or Sony) and start having some major flagship titles launched in VR with treadmill compatibility. I’m glad to hear you’re looking at getting better games for your platform, but I think most people will already be too attached to their favorite PC / Xbox / PlayStation franchises and developers to make an investment like this if it’s not guaranteed to work with a sizable number of the games they’d already be playing in VR without the treadmill. Best of luck to you! Great to see continued progress even years after finding the original project.

I would really like to see a review of this soon. I really want to see how it compares to the Katwalk C2 Plus. The Katwalk C2 Plus has precision movement 1:1 with the feet sensors, and has a fold down seat for games that transition from running to jumping into a vehicle/ spaceship etc so you can be seated for flying and driving….then get out of the vehicle and start walking again. Knox Labs in the US is selling the Katwalk C2 Plus for 1k less…. I just checked and with shipping it is 1800. If the Omni One is over 2500+ without shipping as an introductory price ….that alone is significantly more expensive. I would like to see a side by side online review so that I can make an informed decision. If the Omni can justify its much higher price tag with better features (including a seat attachment) I would consider getting the Omni over the Katwalk. But at the moment I can’t see what advantages it has over the Katwalk for an additional 1k in price.

Kat VR is running circles around you. In terms of shipping, price, PR, etc. And from the demos, I'm concerned you might just have an inferior product. I'd like to see a premium alternative to Kat, but it isn't clear this is it, and this product took way too long to release. Notably, it hasn't even released yet, while Kat walk C2 launched last year.
@VirtuixOmni

Hi Joshua, thank you for the feedback! We have a video on our channel that demonstrates running - Omni One: Step Into The Game. As I haven't tried the KAT C2, I can't comment on the build quality, but we're confident that we offer a more premium product; for example, we bundle Omni One with a fully compatible headset that doesn't require tinkering by the end user, which results in a much better experience.
@DaveSmith-cp5kj

From what I see the Kat VR is nowhere comparable to the Omni. In terms of quality the Omni is clearly superior since it conforms to your back position. There is no way I would call it an inferior product. Just take a look at videos of a Kat VR if you haven't tried it yet and it is like a back brace. It's not super comfortable or immersive. The only reason I'm not getting the Omni is the price. The introductory price is already twice that of the kat and I assume it will only get more expensive when it actually launches. I'm currently in the process of determining what games I want and will probably buy the Kat later this year. I've done the Kat VR before, but IDK how long I will keep using it. If I don't get bored of it I'm probably going to buy a second kat instead of an Omni so I can play with friends unless I experience a major issue with the Kat that the Omni solves, or if the Omni manages to half their price in a year.

@@VirtuixOmni How can you say the Omni is superior to the Katwalk if you haven't tried it, lol. Sorry, but that's ridiculous. I have a Katwalk c2 and it's very well made and can hold me hanging horizontally at 200lbs no problem. Plus it has a seat. Oh and it allows for all steam vr games, not just a few pico 3 games that honestly look pretty simple which would get old fast. Put Skyrim vr and other steam games on here and maybe...
@VirtuixOmni
Жыл бұрын
@@justaguydoinstuff I wasn't commenting on the build quality, but the premium aspect. To give another example of what I mean, I understand that there is more self-assembly involved in putting the C2 together, whereas there are fewer pieces to put together with Omni One, which doesn't require any tools. I've heard that one person dented the base of their C2 from a tool they dropped onto it during assembly. You will be able to play Skyrim VR with Omni One, using our emulation software.
@justaguydoinstuff
Жыл бұрын
@@VirtuixOmni The Katwalk is pretty easy to put together honestly. Only a few parts so I don't see that as an issue. And if you drop a heavy metal object on even thick plastic, sure it'll dent. I'm sure it would do the same to the Omni. Also, the arm that the Omni uses looks like it would be more vulnerable to breakage than the straight one piece back that the Katwalk has. I'm not hating on the Omni, I just think you may have made questionable choices. Your other posts say that you may have emulation software in the future to use Steam VR games but that wasn't your focus and don't know how well it will work. That's a far cry from Katwalks universal compatibility that it already has now. I would like you to succeed, but you would need to lower the price quite a bit since the Katwalk is only 1500.00, has a seat, is universally compatible with steam vr and takes up a smaller area. Just my thoughts.

Can you use a haptic suit with this? It looks like you can, but I need confirmation. I dont mind if it's not perfect.

We will have emulation software for PCVR games, so you may be able to use a haptic suit with a PCVR game that supports it. It will depend on the design of the suit, and whether it can function with a belt, shoulder straps, and back padding in close contact with it at those points.

Hi! Omni One is currently in beta, but we have a page where you can sign up to be notified as soon as pre-orders for Omni One start: omni.virtuix.com/.
This is one of those ideas that everybody thought of but only a few could realize. I have an idea that's possibly better, but it would be much more expensive and you wouldn't be standing on the ground. Not giving the rest away.

This looks cool but its probably mad expensive like 10 grand or some shit.
Compatibility is going to be the sink-or-swim part. If they head towards the Apple approach of "only are stuff works together" or needs complicated workarounds it will sink very quickly. Along with how expensive this unit is. They keep bringing up peripherals but that's what this item is an adjunct to gaming as they do not have the current library to stand independently they need to lean on established products to get there legs under them to be stable in the current market, especially in the current economic downturn.

@@VirtuixOmni at launch?
The player doesn't seem to be able to run, it should be a vest, which would also vibrate when hit and the mechanical arm should be "pineumatic or hydraulic" so that when he jumps, the jump would be higher and he would only touch the ground when the avatar touched it. on the floor too.

Alien isolation 2 - Omni One
Nice to see this is still alive. I actually live in Austin within walking distance of virtuix. But this demo sucked. Show us running, show us walking sideways, backing up.

@VirtuixOmni
@justaguydoinstuff

Price is the biggest question. Price??

@@VirtuixOmni If you’re in an air conditioned room and you sweat, you bet they’re going to fog. Happens all the time. All kinds of people trying to come up with solutions to stop fog. One way is to use a hair dryer to heat the headset up beforehand. That prolongs fogging significantly but after about a half hour, they begin fogging again.

@@EyeForKnowledge. It hasn’t been an issue for me, but I’m sure there are solutions for anyone encountering this problem. Adjusting the air conditioning, or staying cool so as to sweat less, for instance. In hot conditions I have a fan pointed at me.
