Mons is my favorite cause he understands that killing yourself while going for the win is better than dying while waiting for it to be safe

Played well, but having a mystic and rhystic on the board kind of sets you up for success

All I can say with those malcom/tymna mulligans is: this is what players get for getting greedier and greedier cutting their land count lower and lower. Hes running 26 btw

Also aggressively mulliganing for a t1 Malcolm isn't a great idea anyway. Outside of Mana Crypt and Lotus there aren't super many realistic ways to get it. Desperately going for a t1 Malcolm just ends up lile this

From all these games testing around with new Ob Nixilis, I'm impressed. There's a lot of ways in which decks lose exactly 1 life, which make it very powerful if put into play early. Excited to see where the deck goes in the future

I gotta say Touch the spirit realm surprises me time and time again. It helped me multiple times to get through stax pieces that were stopping me. Here another good example why it`s good

Fun game seeing some new strategies in action! In that omnath list (based on discussion around 10 minute mark) I wonder if a viscera seer or carion feeder would be able to slot in, as they would be fetchable off the ranger captain and could set up dockside loops with breach

@8:20 couldn't you cast Jeska's Will for 6 red, then use 2 red and 1 black to cast and tutor with Wishclaw, then cast the tutored Deadly Rollick for free to get rid of dranith, then use the leftover 4 red and last open mana to cast All Will Be One from exile? :)

12:48 - Mons and Malcolm player could have teamed up to take out Pontus with ObNix + Necro.

Hey Mons, when you exile cards with Ob Nixilis, do you need to reveal them to your opponents? Also, I didn't know you could "play" lands from exile with dranith in play! Very fun rule

Did I miss something or did the omnath player straight up mull to 6 rather than take a free mull ? AFAIK pregame action gemstone by exiling the elf into T1 drannith would have been good (sure mons has a bolt in hand but you're not supposed to know that). In the case a first mulligan was made in secret, I guess there's nothing I'd exile indeed. Also that turn 2 of Mons : Jeska's will make 6 mana, allowing you to play the talisman and grab snuff out, kill drannith and cast AWBO. Of course Roderick has a FoN but you don't know that, and anyway the card will be lost; where as by trying to put AWBO into play; if it works you deny all fetch, FoW, talismans etc. But that was harder to see.

Mulligan down to 2? How can anyone take this seriously?

The cEDH mindset of "aggressive mulligans" is pushed way harder than it should be. The deck you're playing, your opening hand size and your opponents are real factors too, and they are definite unlike the idealistic "Turn 3 win" dream opening hand. A hand capable of a decent turn 2 play is normally alright, and the scope of keepable hands goes up when you have solid, low-CMC commanders like Malcolm & Tymna to cast. Joel's first 3 mulligans were all keepable hands. His 5 even had the saving grace of a Windfall. Not the first time Joel's bopped himself with greedy mulligans on the channel, but this is definitely the worst instance. If he hadn't drawn the (high risk) Necropotence to give him _some_ presence towards the end of the game, he would've looked reaaaally bad.

LMAO you don't ever go down to two cards. DO NOT EVER be that greedy for magic. If you feel like being that greedy you deserve a two land hand honestly.
