These seem to grow more substantial with every generation. Realistically, the ceramic-bezel/gloss dial models made since 2012 are the most deluxe luxury divers for the money from any brand. These look, feel, and ARE the business, plus 41mm is a perfect size for all occasions. While I love my 2001 2531.80.00, the modern SMP 300s are just beasts. Best, Tim

I'm a crane operator, and even though I spend alot of time sitting in a cab, playing with levers. I also spend an equal amount of time building cranes, placing cribbing, swinging a sledgehammer and pulling steel cable. I wear this watch every day and I love it. It has a couple nicks and scratches, but it still looks beautiful. This watch is a "show tank."

I accidentally scraped this watch against a wall. After a minor panic attack I check the watch ALL over. No scratch. Nothing. Absolute tank of a watch. And very beautiful.

One of the best and most recognizable watches ever in the last 20-30 years. Absolutely love this diver! I own the blue version and absolutely love it. Great bang per buck for a well known brand with awesome finishing.

It‘s my daily beater for 2.5 years now. Best bang for the buck in my collection. If you put the clasp of the 300M on it, it wears just perfect.

Great watch and great review. I have the Rio Olympic 2016 limited edition version of this watch. I think it's an improvement (and it's still readily available). The most prominent bonus feature is the colored numbers on the bezel. But the Olympic watch also comes with a snazzy "Rio wave" dial and it offers a fully lumed bezel. And it's got the Olympic rings--on the BACK only, so you can look at that or show it off only when you want to.

It'll be interesting to see where the value of these old gloss dial SMP's go now that the wave dial is back. Not to mention that we've now lost that gorgeous artwork of the hippocampus in deep relief on the case-back, with the new display backs :-(

Pretty certain these will appreciate in value. I just bought the 36mm model and that too has been discontinued so I see this purchase as a real investment.

I think I like the old one w the aluminum bezel better, what’s everyone’s thoughts on the larger numbered ceramic bezels? Not sure why they don’t just have a flush helium valve like breitling if they insist on having one.

Just purchased my first luxury watch! This video helped me ease my mind on getting it. Very informative I’m excited!!

Hey WatchBoxReviews! Quick question for you, I picked up this exact watch from swiss watch expo. Mine is a 2016 Omega Seamaster Diver 300 212.30.41.20.01.003. The thing that I am stumped on is my bracelet, the markets on the back of the clasp look out of place (they are in different locations on the back of the clasp), it's also marked with JJE 50 on the left, then stainless steel in the middle, and then on the right hand side it says 1515/816 and the omega logo in a triangle under that. Every single buckle I see for this watch on the internet, does not match up with the markings on mine. Anything that I should worry about?

Hi Tim, you seem very knowledgeable and your videos are very well put. If I may give you a tip on the videos themselves is to use softer lighting and slightly move back from the camera. This will show the watches in a better way and give the viewer a more pleasant experience. This Seamaster is absolutely gorgeous in real life but in the video it does look quite dull.

Hi - thanks for the feedback! This video is a few years old, check out some newer videos for improved quality. We do film close us to give users on mobile a good view of the watch, but our lighting and image quality has improved markedly over the years.

Like the same watch but with the 2008 aluminium bezel bond, the best seamaster imho

It looks like you are holding it tight with your other hand to hug the wrist more closely and hide the thickness the caseback adds.

Still a good buy in June 2018? I’m asking because I’m about to pull the trigger on a new one in a week or two .. I shouldn’t hold out for the new Basel world one right? Especially considering I don’t like that new wave dial.. or is the movement so much better that it outweighs everything? Thanks for you help! Regards, Arman.

If you don’t like the new wave definitely pick up the gloss dial. I got mine yesterday and don’t regret a thing!

Great review as per Tim. Had mine 2 months and love it. Quality is unreal for money. Aquis and many others now long gone.

Aquis was great watch for the money. Couldn't justify keeping both divers. Seamaster next step up. Finishing is unreal. As is accuracy. +2 secs a day. Aquis was around +10. If you can would save up for omega. 🖒

Steve Evans, how did you sell your Aquis? I have both a Aquis Date and just bought the SMPC in blue. I can’t see myself wearing the Oris when I have an Omega. Also, mind if I ask what you got for yours?
