• Omega SPECTRE Seamaste...
*************************************
After hearing that Omega were releasing this "Spectre" Limited Edition take on the Seamster 300, I knew as soon as I saw the publicity photo's that I wanted this to be my second watch.
I got in contact with Omega in early September to see if I could request a specific serial number (the year I was born) seeing as there are only 7,007 pieces.
To cut a long story short the watches had already been dispatched across the world to Omega Boutiques and jewellers etc, the team at Omega tried their best but unfortunately by the time they had located where in the world the watch had been sent to, it had already sold.
Nevertheless I was undeterred in wanting to own one of these stunning timepieces and on September 26th, I made a visit down to the Omega Boutique on Regent ST, London and picked up my very own.
Omega's own write up of the watch is as follows:
This marks the first time that the model worn by 007 is released as a limited edition.
THE SEAMASTER 300 "SPECTRE" LIMITED EDITION
Submerged in tradition, the OMEGA Seamaster 300 has a deep history in underwater adventure. With the release of the 24th James Bond film SPECTRE, 007 returns with this iconic timepiece, updated with a new edge of innovation and attitude.
This unique Seamaster 300, the actual model worn by James Bond in SPECTRE, comes in a robust stainless steel case with a sleek, black and grey striped NATO strap. Inside, the watch is powered by the OMEGA Master Co-Axial calibre 8400, a revolutionary movement that is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.
Engravings include the '007' gun logo on the strap holder, and the 'SPECTRE' film title on the caseback.
To complete the timepiece, the bi-directional rotating bezel is also black, this time made from polished ceramic. Combined with a LiquidMetal® 12 hour scale, time can be kept with any country in the world.
Thanks for watching, Mark.

M gives Bond the watch and he doesnt explain the features like always he just said ,,this alarm is very loud '' .At the end of the movie Bond gets torturet and he nearly dies but he can grab his watch and pull the only button threw it away and he can escape.

Thanks Mark. I love the lollipop second hand. A nod, surely, to the original second hand of the first Rolex Submariner of 1953 that had just such a second hand. Canny too of Omega to spot the fact that Bond fans were already wearing the NATO strap of black and grey worn by Connery with his Submariner in 'Act 1, scene 1' of Goldfinger. Not only that, in interviews well prior to Spectre Daniel Craig is wearing the same strap with his watch in interviews. Of course, the strap was never black and grey. Neither was it a NATO (strictly speaking). NATO straps had yet to be conceived when Goldfinger was made. Thanks to Blue Ray and tidied up film you can see that the strap is actually black - red(thin) - olive -red(thin)-black-red(thin) -olive-red(thin) black etc. The use of the strap makes sense because in those days the metal Rolex straps would not have had a diver's extension. What you have in the film is one long striped strap which could have been used with fixed lugs in the same way as later NATO straps were used. The military Submariner issued to the British armed forces had such fixed lugs. One last thing, as an owner of the black-olive etc version strap I can tell you this: When it gets wet it looks - you've guessed it - like black and grey stripes. Hence the confusion. After all, in the film he had just come out of the water (and had a seagull on his head to prove it!) Anyway enough of this 'boring but true'...... a great watch Mark. Thanks for sharing..'

+Graeme Walker Congrats on getting yours, it something that will be increasingly hard to do as we get closer to the film being released as from speaking with Omega at the weekend, they are pretty much completely sold out now. They only had a couple of display watches left. As for leaving it in the box, that's not something I've done. For me personally, these watches are made to be worn and used, like if I were to own a classic car I would make use of it. I'm currently alternating my watches day to day. So one day I'll wear my Seamaster 300M and the next I'll wear the Spectre Seamaster.

+ViewsFromMark I'm wondering why you require a spare? What are you planning doing with the watch? Rugby? Or Football??? Thank you for sharing. its a lovely watch. The manual is huge, have you had a chance to read it yet? I was wondering if you know if this limited edition is different from one Daniel Craig uses in Spectre?

  • @ViewsFromMark

    @ViewsFromMark

    8 жыл бұрын

+Stephonie Irvin lol, no rugby or football. I plan to get a spare because I mentioned in a previous comment, I want to keep the original as pristine as possible. Plus, over time with general wear, the oils from skin, sweating etc have an impact on any fabric watch / NATO strap. The manual is thick, but it contains information on each caliber of watch that Omega make, not only that but repeated in different languages. So the actual information for this watch is only really on one or two pages. Also, this is exactly the watch that is worn by Daniel Craig in the forthcoming film as mentioned on Omega's website and copied into the info for this video. The limited edition is slightly different from the standard Seamaster 300 in design and also due to the "lollipop seconds hand".

I wasn't sure if Craig's watch sported OO7 and Spectre logo on there. It would draw a lot of attention to a watch where it's not needed. It's quite beautiful. I wanted to purchase a watch which Craig in Casino Royale, and I think Brosnan wore in Die*; the metal band is lovely and looks like no other. But I didn't buy it because I couldn't get pass all of the OO7 logos on the face of the watch. Are there protective elements a jeweler can apply on the crystal so it doesn't scratch? Scratches are the worst thing on a watch because you're the only one who notices them.

Big Omega fan but this is the first Bond watch I didn't like. Got the Casino Royale Seamaster 300m diver (before they took the waves off the face and ruined it) and the Skyfall Seamaster Planet Ocean but this one.... Struck no chords sadly. I went with TDSotM instead, similar style beautiful box. Still a pleasure to watch, good job and grats on the timepiece.

That "mechanism" on the metal strap you mentioned has always been integrated into the SeaMaster collection. It's made to accommodate a skin suit; simply pop the mechanism out and it adds more room for that extra layer of gear. Interesting stuff.

That's incorrect, the push release sliding mechanism is new and currently only featured on one other model. The extension for wetsuits is a different design that's based on a folding hinge as on my Seamaster 300M. So it only extends by one size where as the new push release sliding mechanism is adjustable to different lengths from a couple of mm to 1.5 / 2cm. Both will be covered more in the full review in a couple of weeks.

+ViewsFromMark Incorrect. As I stated previously, I have this model from a year ago, and the bracelet has the exact same extension. In fact the bracelet on yours and this the model which you have are identical in every way.

+ryvr madduck As I state in the video, this is a feature that was pointed out to me by Omega as a new feature. Currently only available with the Seamaster 300. It is not "standard across the Seamaster range", which was the point being made. For example the Co-Axial Seamaster Diver 300M does not feature the push real ease system, nor does the Co-Axial Chronograph Seamaster 300M

+ViewsFromMark Although this may be a new feature in limited quantity, its purpose still serves identical to its first counterpart, the Omega SeaMaster made in 1948. Some iterations of the watch may may not have this feature, but the ones that do, the main design trait in the strap is to make room for that extra blubber. Looking forward to your next video.

ViewsFromMark For me it's a moot point as a month after getting the watch off came the bracelet with its shiny links and on went a rich leather single strap nato. I rubbed bees wax into the leather and it brought out a three dimension to it. It was expensive to begin, so the whole set up looks big but so, so good. I tend to do that with all my watches off go the bracelet and on a nato. I put a black nylon nato having a wicked thin neon blue stripe down the middle on my Sea-Dweller. Wow. Away with the bling, and for good or bad, almost no one knows it's a Rolex. I like that. Hard to look at it and not smile. That's when I know I hit the right tone.

I thought bond has always worn a dive watch?. I think they have missed a small detail here. This isn't a dive watch because a dive watch bezel should only move in a anti clock wise direction un like this watch.... Planet Ocean's are very nice, I've owned one in the past and I think that they should have stuck with that model. Anyhow enjoy the watch and nice video.

I have just ordered it from a well known high street jewellery store. Now I'm panicking as it says about bond but not anything about limited edition. I've paid in a hurry as I was shocked that they were still on sale? It is the same watch I think but will it come as yours did or is there a normal edition and a special edition that look similar?? Basically if it has the nato strap and the lollipop seconds hand etc is it the limited edition and will it come with second strap and spectre box etc??

There are two Omega watches that have been released in connection to Spectre. The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M James Bond Limited Edition 41mm steel on steel 231.10.42.21.03.004 which was released earlier in the year and is a limited edition of 15,007. The watch featured in this video is the Omega Seamaster 300 SPECTRE Limited Edition steel on NATO strap, reference 233.32.41.21.01.001, limited to 7,007. Out of the two, I personally preferred this one.

Hello, no just this one. As covered in a previous comment, unfortunately the attachment for my iPhone 6S (which I'd only had for two days at the time of filming) hadn't arrived for my Manfrotto Tripod by the time this video was shot and if I had waited the extra week then it wouldn't have been a true unboxing video. However, it had arrived by the time I filmed the rest of the videos on my channel.

Hello, thanks for the question. Sort of, there were various press releases from Omega in the months leading up to the launch which were covered on either watch websites and blogs, or film related ones as well as the information they had on their own website. The watch cost £4785 (around $7,500US) when it was released. However they are now sold out and in the searched I have done online since, they are cropping up for anywhere up to and over £1,000 more on places like eBay. Which in most cases whilst they may not have been worn and regarded as still new, on paper at least they would be classed as second hand as they would have already had the warranty cards date stamped from Omega or the Jewellers when originally purchased. Thanks for watching and for the question, do check out my full review video too.
