Omega 3 Fatty Acids: Benefits For Health

The health benefits of omega 3 fatty acids including DHA, EPA and ALA [Subtitles]
In today's video we highlight the many benefits of omega 3 fatty acids for skin health, hair growth, eye health, brain health, immunity and many more. Omega 3-s are essential nutrients for the human body, which it cannot make on its own - so we must get these from our foods.
The best sources of omega 3 DHA and EPA are fish oils, and oily fish. Vegan sources of these include seaweed like nori or spirulina, however they are very small amounts.
The third important type of omega 3 is ALA, which is found in chia seeds, walnuts and plant based foods. This is useful for the body, however it has to be converted into DHA and EPA, and is poorly converted by the body.

Good morning, Mr. Taylor. I had forgotten the inclusion of a small amount of fat when taking Krill Oil and will make the correction. Thank you for your thorough and detailed work.

Wonderful. Is it right that ( kidney beans),( soy beans) ,( wheat germs),and ( edamame beans) are sources of omega- 3 fatty acids? My warmest regards to you

Brilliant video and well explained. While watching I was wondering what you’d recommend as a supplement, as Omega 3 can go rancid easily... or so I believe. I wanted to know if Krill oil was more stable than standard fish oil supplements. If that’s covered in your next video, I will eagerly await it’s release. Thank you.

Hi Garry, standard fish oil supplements tend to be oxidized, highly processed and rancid. A good quality cod liver oil extract (if kept refridgerated) is the best source of omega 3's however the downside is that a good brand is highly expensive, and still has the potential to go off. I personally prefer Krill Oil, as it contains a natural occurring chemical called astaxanthin, which naturally preserves the omega 3-s. They are also better for the food chain, and the omega 3 fatty acids are bound to phospholipids. These fats disperse in water and are much easier absorbed and less likely to leave aftertaste, burping and gas.

Dear Ryan, so much appreciated mate... you are doing great...😊🙏 putting all the info together.. there is balance that has to be in place between omega 3 ,6 and 9, and vitamin E has to be added for it to be more absorbed. Do you know anything about this ? . Cheers mate, you are the best... 🛐💕 love Erik

Thank you Erik...Absolutely, the modern lifestyle has people consuming too much omega 6 fats and not enough omega 3. The body can make its own omega 9-s however we can also get these wonderful fats from our foods. Vitamin E works synergistically with omega 3 to reduce inflammation in the body. 💪

@@RyanTaylorNaturalRemedies That's true mate ! 😊 but shouldn't you be in bed right now ? ... ha ha .. Do you know the ratio between 3 and 6... I think there is a ratio... love Erik here 🙏💕

I should have haha, overactive brain is my blessing and my curse..The ideal ratio for the body is 1:1 for omega 3 and 6. However most people consume around 1:20. Although it's nearly impossible to perfect the balance, driving up the omega 3's really helps 👌
