I just got this camera and so far I'm really impressed. I purchased this for situations I didn't feel comfortable bringing my other cameras but I still wanted better pictures then I could get with a phone.

Olympus definitely has improved on the Tough series, their menu does need some work, they need to simplify it better. Great video Dave.

Yes I use TG6 most days. Indestructable, drop your I-phone one and.... b. Picture quality photo and video Brilliant. The menu system is a paijn, but as I also use OM and PEN systems they are nearly the same once learnt. I will use this, just to photograph a document OR dive to -60 metres under the sea equipped with scuba case U/W strobes and LED lights. You focussed down to 5-6 cm. This beast Micro focuses down to less than 10mm in photo or video. My colleagues with 5000$ pro rigs have trouble to compete. What will it not do? When I go on Safari I mainly use an Olympus OM with long lenses handheld. When I visit London again I use OM but with wde wide angle and fisheye. Studio portrait again OM with portrait lens BUT the tg6 running background video.

Nice review. Does it have image stabilisation? Do we know about battery life? I’m assuming no mic input? 😀

No mic input Terry, battery life is very good.

Assuming the menu system is the same or similar to the rest if the Olympus omd stable, I dont see the issue, it works! Panasonic menu is 10x worse, I cant understand what everyone has trouble with

Does it make a sound when you turn it off? My wife got one and she thinks it's messed up because it makes a slight robotic noise when she turns it off.

Since it is thought of like an action and adventure camera it isnt so bad at all.

Sadly for me this product was a huge disappointment. I am an licensed boiler inspector and it is my job to inspect equipment and document the condition. I have owned over a dozen weather proof tough cameras over the years and this is amongst the worst. I need a very high quality camera that is able to take pictures in challanging light conditions and this is not it. The auto focus and adaptive ISO functions on this camera are very poor. I am questioning if it's a defective product as all the images are over exposed and low resolution. Ultimately I have given it to my 9 year old son as it is unusable for me in my profession. The only positive I can say about this camera is that it is indeed very tough as I literally threw it across a concrete building and it some how survived.

only 12 megapixels ha ha ha to bad they made a nice camera very weak on the still pictures not for me 16 to 20 on the Panasonic and Nikon

Lower megapixel count aids in gathering more light for a smaller sensor.

I have a Nikon DSLR as well as this. Although I can get better pictures with my Nikon I'm still impressed with this cameras results. Its perfect for situations where you wouldn't want to bring a "real" camera.

Higher megapixel doesn’t necessarily translate into better pictures. This is a marketing ploy.
