Man I remember, she was the main reason that so many people watched the Pan-American Championships. Like 10 of my friends who hardly ever watch IFSC events tuned in to that comp and were rooting for Alannah. It was insanely euphoric when she won, one of the best moments of IFSC history for sure.

Mad respect for finishing her engineering degree AND beings a competitive climber, I can barely keep up with my physics degree

Saw Alannah in nationals a few years ago while she was still studying and preoccupied with things other than climbing. She was incredible and I was immediately a fan. My friend and I met her after the comp and she was super nice and articulate. Essentially how you hear her co-commentate is how she was. When she won her slot, I definitely got the feels (it was nearly impossible not to). I'm super excited to see her compete.

I’ve never felt genuine emotion until this video when she realized she made it to the olympics. I found myself almost crying LMFAO

What a great series! Being someone who enjoys watching climbing but doesn't watch close enough to know everyone this was really fantastic. So often you see all the athletes during the games but don't know the backstory. Excited for the rest of the series. :)

Oh dear, that triple format... I remember calculating the highly unlikely combination of Lead scores that would see Ondra win the Olympic gold.

Alannah has the added bonus of being the cutest climber on the circuit!

Such a neat sport! I wish the holds in speed climbing lit up as you touched them, it would really give the viewer a fun visual. Also, having have the athletes NOT allowed to skip any holds would give it a slalom like feel. Making it even more competitive.

Somewhat. At UBC, MechEng is under the Applied Sciences faculty, so she got a BAS instead.

You shouldn't use "American" to refer to only US competitors, especially in a competition called the Pan-American Championships. They're all American!

It’s the first time I don’t enjoy one of Albert’s video: there are no climbing or climbing analysis here! It could have been done by a random tv - you are so much better than that Albert!

Sorry I couldn't please you with the content I enjoy making. I enjoy telling stories as well as analyzing climbing. I unfortunately am a team of one and am no professional so I agree a tv station could easily make better content than me since they'll naturally have better resources.

Cannot wait to watch Alannah compete, she is such an incredible climber! I remember watching PanAm and screaming at the tv for every boulder top and then crying at the moment she realized she earned her ticket, what a moment! Proud to be Canadian!!

I absolutely love your videos! I'm sure they take a lot of work but it would be amazing if you could manage to finish this series
