I've never felt more conflicted of how to feel for a game... But miracles do happen and it would be typical villa to go and do it having got battered in the home leg 💜💙

Timing is everything. The timing of the goals is crucial. Obviously we need to score the first goal. But the second and third will come but I want to score when them running out of time to hit back... It doesn't work that way but I really wish it did...

Except we followed up that crap performance with another crap one at Brighton. We actually have been playing bad for a while now, but somehow, getting results in games. I don't see us getting to this final, but there is always hope I guess. Hope I'm proved wrong obviously

Momentum is key, we need to create it throughout this game

As an Olympiacos fan, I agree that if you score the first goal, you are gonna turn it around. We tend to conceed alot of goals concentrated right after the first goal. And I think the atmosphere will help you alot if you score one early on. We start to winge and whine alot after being one nil down. This season especially so. And we tend to play better at the away games against good teams, rather than at home.

Not scared of Olympiakos at all. We got SO many chances against them even when we were at our worst... Martinez saves a lot of those goals against us. Olympiakos didn't nullify us the way Lille did. If we're rested and ready we I know with the people back that we can do it... then carry that energy with us to beat Liverpool on Monday and wrap up 4th!! UTV

I'm going to Greece on holiday on 23rd May so I'm hoping we get to the final and I'll leave the family for a short flight over to Athens! We can do it! The Brighton performance was way off. Leggy. Slow. Ponderous. Really dull. But, if we can't get up for a second leg Semi Final in Athens then we never will. I think we have to put more legs in the midfield. If Youri is not ready, we have to put Tim in there imo. Drop Diaby, he's nowhere recently. More bodies in midfield to wrestle control and we go again. You're right - energy needs to be there!

As a villa fan I don’t see villa coming back from the defeat without Martinez villa is doomed

Cannot agree with having bailey out left to allow diaby to play. That just ruins bailey. I would look at any option other than playing diaby. I agree that a three man midfield with mcginn further forward is the way forward.

If Zaniolo is out, I'd rather keep Bailey on the right with Digne at LB and Moreno LW. Cash has value at RB, but farther forward, his limitations become too apparent.

You will be very disappointed on Thursday. Yes Villa is the better team theoretically, BUT they have a very strong opponent and they showed what they can do offensively last week.. no one asked about Olympiacos before the first leg, you underestimated them and now is too late. Olympiacos's manager knows Emeri's tactics better than anyone and you will not stand a chance on Thursday. A lesson learnt for Aston Villa.. arrogance can destroy you. Down two goals is nothing. Olympiacos is not a quality team. We have been playing epically bad. We can easily go in and win this 3-0 or 4-0. I think it will be a blow out. I don't think Olympiacos is much better than Sheffield United.

But speaking of disrespect, I don't think your comment aspired to be disrespectful but it does reflect how the first game went, I could feel how your team was shocked by Olympiakos and to me that was a clear sign that you were not mentally prepared for such a game. Olympiakos has won much better teams than Aston Villa both Home and Away and last time we visited the UK, we kicked Arsenal out in London and if it wasn't for the Covid lockdown, we had the momentum to repeat that with Wolves and go all the way to the final that year (BTW there were quite a few controversial decisions from the Ref that day). Your players are great but lack the experience at that level and Karaiskakis is a whole different atmosphere. A team that was a staple fixture in CL and EL for years deserves more respect and attention, comparing us to Sheffield United can only work in our favour. Good luck in securing CL for next year much respect for you but on Thursday you are going home empty handed.

Just ashame we have the injuries which has made the players tired. If its the DEcember 2023 team , we will easy , but you never know , maybe one last masterclass from the team. I do think Im more wanting Man city beating Sourzzz now , as finishing 4th will be an amazning thing to have done with all the injuries.
