@@annepatton8727 Maybe so! :) I didn't mean to zero in on you, but it's just weird -- or odd -- when you see hundreds of people saying 'Rest in Piece' or whatever to people who are dead, and not resting. I think there's some sort of phobia against using the real word. I understand the intention is to so gratitude and appreciate towards the individual...but it's just so...weird. :)

I loved her performance in that as well..

I loved Anne Archer. Her best scene in Fatal Attraction is when she is searching for her daughter. She shows how frantic a mother gets when her kid goes missing.

A few years after that film, she appeared in a film with Neil Patrick Harris in which she a married woman who has an affair with a teenaged boy! LOL!

Watching this brings tears to my eyes today after hearing she had passed away yesterday. Such a wonderful actress. She played iconic parts in Moonstruck and in Steel magnolias - 2 of my all time favorite movies. RIP Dear lady - we will miss seeing you in new movies.

She more than deserved this Oscar....she was fabulous in Moonstruck as well as Steel Magnolias. She was a wonderful actress and stole every scene she was in! RIP.....

Ye Olimpia Dukakis won for Moonstruck...suporting role...played Cher mother....she was perfect as Cher...movie and whole cast...

I don't know why, but it hurts me to see an old actor, or generally someone old, being nominated (even for the first time) for a prestigious award and lose. Anne Ramsay looked so happy and I felt sorry for her, despite the fact she has won 2 Saturn Awards. She had undergone esophageal cancer surgery, which gave her this elderly look and voice. Yet she managed to get to the peak of her career with her amazing role. She was so happy, and just by looking at her, with a cut jaw and content emotion, I cried. Because we knew she did not have enough time left to live. Of course, you can't just give an award because you know someone or because you feel sorry for him, but for Christ sake, they should also give a certificate that you mention that an actor has been nominated. Rip Anne Ramsay.

The bone structure....the talent...the beauty. Hold your breath..a shooting star just left our galaxy.

Olympia passed today. But first, I watched Anne's performance on video not too long ago. Lemme tell ya, she could've pulled an upset in this category. She was scarily GOOD ! But Olympia was the heart and soul of "Moonstruck". In the movie, after passing up the tempting offer to spend a one-niter with an attractive professor, her unforgettable reply was: "Because I know who I AM !" That one-liner spoke volumes. RIP, Olympia.

"Cosmo, no matter where you go or what you do, you're gonna die." Funny and true at the same time. Your talent and class will live forever in our house. God Bless you, Olympia. 🥰
