I haven't skated since I was 17, I'm 32 now. My 9 year old daughter wants to get in the game and I've been trying to get her set. JB, dude, you are awesome. Seriously the Bob Ross of skating. Thank you for providing content not only for my daughter, but me as well trying to get back into it. Cheers brother.

I really love these live lessons because of how they show the progressions of learning a trick. A lot of videos just show you the end result, so these going through steps to troubleshoot and progress up to the final product are really fantastic. Thanks for posting these.

I had my ollies going ok then for some reason they started turning frontside. I tried everything to fix it, keeping my shoulders straight, different positions with my feet etc. but I couldn't correct it. Eventually I tried imaging putting a small scoop to turn backside and this straightened my ollies. I think I may have been popping with a bit too much weight on my heels or possibly it was the way I was pushing my toes down causing a slight frontside scoop. Whatever it was it's fixed now. Hopefully that'll help anyone that's having the same problem

Love your videos, JB. The care and love you've put into them - it's like a life work or something, and I (like many people) am so grateful. I haven't skated for more than twenty years (48 now), and my five year old girl, wanted to try it, so I stepped back on again, and I'm back! Wish I'd never stopped. I don't bounce like I used to, but I'm not gonna be defined by my age... A question though - like with your student here, my ollies have a tendency to turn front side (never ever the other way). What causes this? Hip rotation? Shoulder rotation? Foot placement? What's the best way to solve this..?

Great video as usual! A quick question if you don't mind. My flat ground ollies are overall ok when standing still but feel very sketchy when rolling and I think it has to do with where I focus my eyes. Any suggestions as far as where to look? I think I'm too focused on the board. Thanks.

Thanks Johan, I appreciate your kindness. Look at your feet and then where you need to Ollie, no real rules for this and it varies depending how comfortable you are with your Ollie. I like to watch my feet when I’m in the air and I think same for most people. 💙🛹💙

Loving your live lesson videos Josh, they are super helpful :-D . Got a question about the board twisting, like when your student is doing stationary ollies leaning on the fence his board keeps turning to his backside. I get this problem a lot too and can't figure it out, my shoulders are straight but the board keeps twisting - is it about having too much weight on the heels? Thanks.

Many times it helps people to not try to ollie so hard, many people spin their chest or hips forward when they pop. Start with 50% power in your Ollie’s and see that it cleans them up, it will hopefully help you break that habit. All the best and keep skating 💙🛹💙
