The song is amazing, she is INCREDIBLY TALENTED. Also just so you know, this song is abt his ex boyfriend Joshua Bassett, he was in hsmtmts, they dated, he taught her how to drive and everything, but like they broke up and he started dating Sabrina Carpenter. In the lyrics she says that the girl is older than her, which, yeah Sabrina is 21 and also she says "that blonde girl" i think, that's another reference to Sabrina. I'm new to the whole thing so if i got something wrong, feel free to correct me but with respect and kindness.

Yea this is a good explanation! But them going out is just a rumor it was never confirmed, but the fact that she was 17 and Joshua was 19 and he wrote in songs that he would wait for her to turn of legal age was what made it more emotional, however she did write this song 6 months ago and they have worked things out since they are working on season 2 of the series.

Here’s some things that point toward it being about Josh. First of all, he taught her to drive. Then he’s supposedly dating Sabrina Carpenter because they were seen together a lot really close and she is blonde and older than Olivia (Olivia is 17 almost 18 and Sabrina is 21). Next Josh drives a white car and she says “I still see your face in the white cars”. Next in the music video in the scene where she lays down on the dude he’s wearing pretty much the same shirt as in hsmtmts scene where her character lays down on josh’s character. Also in the music video she is wearing a jacket that looks exactly like the jacket josh’s character wore in the show. And Josh also posted on his story about her song and he was like the only person that she didn’t repost. And also I heard about this one and it’s kinda a stretch but one her drivers license thing that she has on all her merch and stuff has the date she turns 18 (not her bday but the day this year that she turns 18) and when turns 18 she could like legally be with Josh and stuff and also it’s said that Josh said he was gonna wait for her to turn 18 but then he started dating Sabrina so that’s how it could have something to do with this. Also the piano scene in the music vid is kinda similar to the piano scene in the show when she sings all I want. Anyways, that’s all lot and these are just guesses not actually proven and I might have missed some stuff but that’s it :)
