Two of my all time favorite singers, Olivia and Karen. Karen Carpenter is so extremely thin. Now it's so obvious she was starving herself, which damaged her heart and caused her death from heart failure, so sad.

@@philippakingdon3437 Yes, Karen's cheek's are so sunk in. Very, very sad. Karen died in 1983 at the age of 32. I never forgot the year and her young age. Very sad.

I guess what damaged her heart to death were the pills, not the diet. May be I am wrong.

I'm not an expert on what damaged Karen's heart but I'm sure that the starving herself and taking diet pills or laxatives did not help.@@LauRa-re9un

Olivia always played down her accomplishments. No matter how big Olivia was , she treated everyone as her equal. Don't see that today with today's artist. They are cocky and entitled

She was around what around 59 years including her work in the 60s. She did so much and never have I heard her make a cocky remark and she’s truly missed.

Incredible that there is shown a video about getting physical, about fat people and fit people, and Karen Carpenter was there, I wonder what she felt. By the other way, we went from John Travolta´s male chauvinist successful move Saturday Night Fever to a video with Olivia Newton John showing women power. And it only passed 3 years since the movie, 1978 to 1981. Looks like times were changing quickly. I am sure John Travolta wasn´t male chauvinist but the movie and his character were.
