I love how she writes such incredible poems about groups who’re usually made fun of and disrespected (like long island women, and teenage girls). she boldly takes away the punchline. it’s so unflinching and powerful and vulnerable... it’s one of my favorite things slam poetry can do and she does it so, so well.

Surprised that people like this version more than the other one. I’ve watched the other one a thousand times, and as someone who grew up on Long Island, the whole vibe and the accent is WAAAAY more accurate in the other version. In this one, there are just too many places where she goes in and out of the accent. This one is also way too peppy and upbeat for the subject matter. The other version, to me, is brilliant and accurate, one of my favorite things ever.
