@@hdeniro1106 Dogs can be devils and means sometimes too. Dogs can attack and kill. Dogs can attack kids and cats...I LOVE dogs and cats, but let's not generalize. Humans can be awful with their words. Cats are very mistreated and abandoned, they are on their guards..

@@treasured.5707 dogs are not devils and they’re not mean at all. The only way they could be dangerous is if trained that way by a horrible human or neglected. Some cats are mean no matter how much love they receive. Stop comparing because they are totally not the same. I have my right to dislike cats based on my experiences.

That encounter was more frightening than you think; a lot of those stray cat colonies have rabies outbreaks. I'm glad that beautiful boy is okay and, as I know you guys are the best parents ever, I know he's fully vaccinated.

Cats are also animals. I think I have a chart somewhere... I'm badly allergic to cats but I still stroke them when I see them . Cats are assholes, and great, and friendly or angry. They have little personalities. A cat that attacked a dog three times bigger than it is a hero. I'd still spritz it with water. BUT a hero.

@@OlivertheBeagle It really is amazing, how carefully and individually you are answering comments. I just subscribed to a few other channels - violin and saxophone. Nobody is answering the comments like you. In average for 1000 comments there are 20-30 answers, basically 'thank you' or sometimes 'thank you very much' etc. YOU are really doing a great 'job' - caring for and presenting Oliver - and individually answering comments.

I am happy and relieved to hear that Oliver wasn't hurt badly from being scratched on his back, feral cats can be unpredictable to say the least. One thing that I learned from watching this is that wind guards can make great substitute toys, also I thoroughly enjoy watching Oliver rolling in the grass . 😊

Yes, the cat was a bit of a shock, but we had a lot of fun when we went back to the park! It's so much fun watching Oliver clowning around in the park--he definitely has his own agenda when I'm trying to film him!

As someone who loves both dogs *and* cats, I'm sorry to hear about the stray cat situation in the SF Bay area. I hate it when people just dump cats (or dogs) to fend for themselves. It's cruel. I'm glad that Oliver emerged unscathed. When it's cat vs. dog, cats usually win; they really know how to administer a smackdown!

Thank you, Sarah! Yes, it was a difficult situation. We know that feral cats don't have easy lives. The best solution is probably just to make sure that feral cats have their own space so they don't feel threatened. We've donated to our local animal shelter and hope that they will be able to help the stray cats who live in our neighborhood.

Stray cats lead very hard lives. They don't get the nourishment and love that pets who have a home do. Sorry if Oliver got hurt. But please don't hate on homeless cats. Love Oliver, he's adorable

Yes, I do think you can say that the cat was being brave in defending itself, especially given that Oliver is three times as big! It does make me wonder why there are so many more stray cats here than there were in Chicago. Is it about the climate here being warmer? Or is it because populations of stray cats have been growing during the pandemic? We've been supporting our local animal shelter, and I know that they work hard to help stray cats find forever homes.
