You can be certain, the government is afraid and that's why they keep pushing certain laws and regulations. If you are a law abiding person you will fall in line and that's what they count on. The people who have a differing opinion are silenced and feel like just a cog in the system. Even people in politics who want to do what is right will lose their support if they don't fall in line. I'm a welder and I can tell you one thing, AI may seem like a solution but after what you pay for a robot and the labor involved to keep it running, it doesn't make much sense. Someone still has to work the same shift loading the parts for the robots. And if you work for a decent company, they aren't allowed to hire illegals. But I can tell you one thing for sure, every factory in my town is now owned by Chinese or Koreans communists and they're even buying up all of the farm land. That's the real problem

Us normal people are actually in it together. The majority of politicians are intentionally gaslighting you to make you feel crazy and keep us all quiet so we don’t get labeled crazy. I cannot believe that we treat our veterans worse than illegal aliens. They have found for our country and our personal safety and we leave them in states of emotional and physical distress that could be considered almost torture. Many of the “compassionate” political moves are anything but compassionate. I am just so happy this song and message is so clear and resonates with literally the entire world. I don’t know what difference it will make long term but i hope it does. I am also from the midwest steel belt but very close to chicago.. so i completely understand and empathize with your perspective. I love that you are so open about it. The mainstream culture is basically the bread and circus from the Roman empire. Distract the population with entertainment so they don’t think too hard about their miserable existence.

Idk if it was Trump or the reaction to him, but somehow politics has crept into every aspect of society. You can't listen to music, watch tv, watch movies, play video games, watch sports, etc etc without having some ideology shoved down your gullet. That includes the internet. Young people aren't necessarily choosing to become political early, they're being forced into it.

Im 53 year old veteran and this country is effed. I feel for the kids have no clue how things are for them. Then again they helped put us here so eff em.

What's that

The last time I saw a story teller just stand play their guitar and sing from their soul with no gimmicks or fancy backing about the desperation of living in abject poverty and trying to escape it was Tracy Chapman in her song Fast Car. She became a super star because it resonated with so many people and she was the real deal. Oliver / Christopher has taken it even further, exposing the dark side of our men and women in suits rulers who have sold their souls and wish to crush our spirits. That is why this is an across the board smash hit, he sings the truth from the soul and has brought the evil ones into the spotlight of the masses. God is speaking through this man with the Holy Spirit and everyone can feel it, that's why we cry when we hear this song and we have to hear it over and over and over and over.

Just saw him in concert, WOW!. He is the real deal. A man we need right now.

Speaking from a more seasoned perspective I've found that if I want to really make a difference to my day to day life I try to focus my energy at the local and state levels instead of the Federal level. That's not to say I don't vote my conscience when the time comes at the Fed level but we all only have so many breaths to breathe in our lives so chose your battles carefully..

That's a disingenuous fraction of the points he made in Part 2, he had a whole lot more to say. He's already made it clear he falls straight down the middle politically, and doesn't identify as either Left or Right. He's neutral and fair in his fed up criticism, which being a fed up Independent I can relate to that. His main point is class warfare. He made it very clear he thinks it's funny that ALL politicians have to now listen to his words/lyrics, that he's talking about ALL of them. He also said, "I do hate to see that song weaponized. I see the Right trying to characterize me as one of their own, and I see the Left trying to DISCREDIT me." He continued, "30 some million people understood what I was saying. But it only takes a few to try to derail the train, you know, to try to send out false narratives."... "This isn't a Republican and Democrat thing. It's not even a United States thing... this has been a global response." Sure has, sure is, and growing by the day. He's such an intelligent, humble, old soul gobsmacked by the attention he's received from all walks of life. Millions of us appreciate and understand his Appalachian folk anthem musical therapy, and the impact he's made. And if millions of us now say "Go Folk, Not Woke!", so be it, we understand exactly what that means too.

As a man who has contemplated suicide in a few of my lowest moments, this song really hits me so hard, and what you said about men and the epidemic of suicide really got to me so much.

I can’t listen to this without crying.

When you're vibing and relating to the song. Then at 2:53 and it hits you were it hurts most. That's how we know it's time to make some changes here in the US. It hurts me too a lot.

I don't know how many of these reactions I have watched and you are the first one to even acknowledge the lyrics "young men putting themselves six feet in the ground because all this country does is kick them down" which furthers his point that no one cares about us.
