Awesome video. I see an i5R in my rotation very soon. I too am a flashlight junkie. I started off with Surefire and Streamlight (I'm a cop) but I probably own more Olights than anything. Olight has really and truly risen to the top and up'd their game recently. I own an i5T Plus in OD green, an i3T in black, four i3Es (black, antique bronze, zombie green with blood spatter and blue) and two Open minis in OD and purple. Love your channel bro!

I5R is definitely an awesome light! And I appreciate what you do! Law Enforcement definitely isn’t an easy job nowadays! Olight is definitely a huge contender in the space. They have amazing products and definitely do not overcharge for what you get like they absolutely could if they wanted to. Considering they have a big enough following now that a price change wouldn’t reflect negatively on sales I’m sure. Thank you for your support brother and stay safe out there!

I think I’ve got all of em now in the I5t and I5r with the exception of the new autism one but this HCRI is by far my favorite. I used to not care about color temp or CRI but as the hobby progresses I care a little more. I’m almost to the point where my comfort is around 2700k, used to hate that but 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s funny how that happens right? Same thing happened with me. I prefer warmer lights now. I still carry both because there are some flashlights that I love, that you can’t get warmer temps on. I would just prefer that. That’s the first stage of flashaholics. 😂

I have the Olight i5R HCRI. I appreciate the beam. It makes discerning colors much easier. If Olight issues the Magnesium Baton 3 Pro Max in a neutral white or HCRI I will buy it. I appreciate the weight savings, but am unwilling to sacrifice a better tint.

Man I wish they would have had options for the emitter on the magnesium. I love the weight and everything else about the light, but I would’ve loved a NW or WW as well.

I can't stand any non high cri warm tint flashlights anymore. I'm glad to see olight is finally starting to produce them. I just picked one up myself but haven't received it yet. Also picked up a neutral tint prerun mini 2. I prefer 2700k - 4000k max. Thanks for the video! I don't really see any videos on this light, surprisingly.

I am totally with you! I think it’s part of the journey. As you get more and more lights, you become more of a tint and CRI snob. Lol. It just comes with the territory. It’s like collecting knives and starting to really judge knives based in blade steels and deployment options.

I have been curious about that one. Once you use higher cri flashlights, you notice the green tint 70 CRI emitters that Olight use. If you never try a high CRI, you will probably not notice the difference. Once you see the difference in color rendering, it's hard to not notice the difference.

That’s exactly how I feel. Lol. Now that I’ve been using higher CRI lights and branching out to higher end lights from other companies, CRI and beam warmness is something I look for in my lights. I like the i5R HCRI a lot because of that. I’d really like to see more of this from Olight and kind of standardize it amongst their products.

@Florida Boy EDC Yes, Acebeam Pokelit is like the i5R high cri but has 3 modes & is about half the price. I like Olight, but there are other brands out there that are as good, or better, imo and at a lower price.

9:10 " I'm leaning more towards neutral and warm lights" - me too. Nowadays either 'warm white' or 'high CRI' are the first things I look for. Cool white may be bright but it can be unpleasant.

This is exactly it! I think that that is just a taste that you acquire once you have handled so many lights. You want that nice warm temperature that has that high CRI depth. Looks super crisp and doesn't wash out everything that you point it at. I think everyone evolves to that point eventually.

I can help.. start buy getting a real flashlight sunshine boy.. start with a lumen monster.. hen we shall work up to an ms18 or sr32.. and no.. 10,000 lumens is toddler play.. sunshine boy… be a man.. get a manly light 😆😆😆 no but seriously… you need to experience some ACTUAL bright lights 😈😈 your missing out.. maybe ask ole dead chrome if you can buy one of his lights lol. Or get the sofirn q8 plus for a start 😈😈

@@FloridaBoyEDC sofirn q8 plus is a good start 😎 as for imalent. If you want a thrower they have some good options, but I’d say the ms12 mini is the best of every world . The ms18 id say is the best as far as every world minus budget. The sr32, I would hold off until the issues are confirmed fixed, and even then the beam type is a punchy vs a soft spread.. so it comes down to preference.. ( and useability due to the issue of high lumen throwers). I’m sticking with the ms18 as I think it’s the best overall in every aspect.. but avoid the ms03.

why do you want a warmer light? You can see so much more clearly and it’s brighter with a cool light

I have a lot of cool lights. The natural color of warm and neutral lighting is really growing on me. It’s not as bright as cool white, but it also doesn’t wash out things I’m shining on and natural colors show through.
