Usyks body shots were ripping into that belly the entire fight. Fury missed a lot of shots as Usyk caught and blocked them. And the first 3 rounds were Usyk's. Fury won 4/5/6 you can be generous and give him another swing round. 9/3 or 8/4 Usyk by Unanimous Decision. Usyk bullied and pressured him constantly. And yes the ref saved him from getting KO'd!

True but as the honourable gentlemen they are, Usyk and team would accept the return fight as per contract, if Fury is stupid enough to want it. The one who should retire is Fury. There are only top ranked fighters, he previoysly avoided, ahead of him now and his usually preferred "circus fights" against mediocre opponents won't work anymore.

@@bartjaku9174 Usyk is same height, reach as Muhammad Ali. Its not farfetched to say Ali is more skilled, more talented then Usyk and clearly a much bigger puncher. Usyk footwork is ridiculous, his combination punching is special and he has great timing. Ali is special in all those areas that make Usyk great. Ali has better timing, better footwork, better handspeed, better combination puncher and had special timing in both offense + defense. Ali was also more durable, better chin and faced better + natural boxers, guys who grew up boxing. Fury as great as he is has mostly faced guys who are of a much lower skill level or they were late starters to boxing. AJ + Wilder started boxing very late at age 18 and 19, both got to the top very quickly. That speaks volumes of how weak this era of heavyweights are. The way Fury beat Klitschko was Klitschko was complacent having defended the belt for over 10 years, 15+ title defenses & Fury was active, young and hungry fighter. That was the best version of Fury physically, mobility wise, handspeed and yet he didn't convingly beat an age 39 Klitschko on an off day with personal problems. Fury just stole rounds, many rounds where barely anything thrown or landed by either.

Completely agree with him. Usyk's fitness allowed him to fight the fight he did. In round 8 he started to pick up the pace and Fury who usually outpaces his opponents could not keep up. This was a process that started in the early rounds. Usually Fury can land a few shots and circle away since he is faster and more technical than anyone else he has faced. In this fight, as soon as he threw a few shots (usually they did not catch Usyk clean) Usyk was back putting pressure on him immediately, every time! That tempo is suffocating.

  • @UnseenSpirit

Good interview. People who don't box think Fury won but Usyk had effective pressure, controlled the position and pace and landed the cleaner head shots, good body shots and had a KD. Fury had some good body shots and uppercuts but in the close rounds, lost it in the last 20 secs at times...

Why is nobody talking about Fury's clowning around? It cost him the match without a doubt, in fact, the one time TF stopped messing around, he took control and had Usyk in trouble. Total disrespect from Fury towards the sport, the hosts, his trainer, the fans who paid good money to watch, and to Usyk, too. A word to the Wise - its the meek, the humble, who shall inherit the Earth, so well done champ Usyk!!

Actually no. The only time Usyk stopped punching him was when he was clowning around. He does that clowning after he gets hit good to try and sway the judges and crowd and it worked with one judge. Tyson lost to an almost 40 year old Usyk who didn’t even move like he did in the first Joshua fight. Usyk marched him down like he was the 7 foot tall giant. Fury did do well at times especially the middle rounds and could beat Usyk on an off night. It’s sad fury cheats and plays games and fouls and he doesn’t need all that hes actually good

I haven’t seen the fury comments after the last pressie. until then Tyson has been gracious in defeat. He deserved to lose that fight, wasn’t even close to a win, maybe not a draw.. But was a close fight I haven’t seen this comments (( as. Of today) as regards the comparisons to the conflict in ukrain, if he’s said that it out of order. Worse than d wilder blaming his loss on the weight of his costume that he chose to wear coming into the ring. There’s a lot of BS going around today. I’m not a massive fan of fury as a guy, but he’s a great fighter and from what I’ve seen he’s been respectful. He needs to learn from that for the re match.

Not sure Usyk should retire straight away if he beats Tyson in a rematch. Another good last fight maybe for Usyk after the rematch (if he won), would be him fighting Wilder in a defence. Mostly because Wilder is a big puncher and it would be interesting to see how Usyk would deal with Wilder, who is tall and very capable of knocking Usyk out. Not that I think Wilder could last 12 rounds with Usyk, but there's that "big element of surprise" in that fight because Wilder has the biggest guns to put Usyk down well before going the distance.

Uhm.. Mark Nelson, the ref, does it since 1992. Bashir is headtrainer since 2012. Nuff said. Btw, if Bashir gives Tyson 5 rounds in addition to 3 drawn rounds, well, it is getting real close to win it for Usyk. Even with 10-8 round in the 9th. So, yeah, I don't know what fight Bashir was watching though.
