American Gladiators was inclusive before anyone talked about it! Love it!

Siren and Zap were my favorites. I loved how much of a role model Siren was being deaf and showing many others who weren't just deaf but had a disability that you can go on to do many things. She taught everyone a little bit of ASL in a way by teach the crowd how to 'clap' for her as waving your hands in the air is actual way a Deaf person 'claps' and the stomping of the feet as well as while Siren could not hear in the normal sense she can 'hear' the vibrates foot stomping does. Siren helped so many in this time era as not much was being done to help those with disabilities. She will be missed.

Went to a taping of this show when I was a kid. This was at the time when Nitro was a host, not a Gladiator. I just remember how long it took to go from one event to another but it was a ton of fun!

@@jackw3302 They certainly sped that up for the live tour. I went to a live tour show, and the transition between events was pretty quick. I remember that we had to wait a good deal more time, though, after a contender got stuck in one of the Atlashperes because a stripped bolt didn't allow for the thing to be opened after that event took place. They eventually did get it open, after the contender did a bit of nervous hopping inside the Atlasphere. I think the whole audience was nervous, because we didn't know if we were going to be there the whole night or if the show would be canceled or delayed until they could get the contender out of there.

Keep these awesome American Gladiators episodes coming! This is the first season I ever saw as a kid, so this is the season I relate to the most

If you watch Storm and the sideline Gladiators, they are encouraging the handwaves for Siren.

Which in ALS is the actual way you clap for a deaf person. And while she can't hear in the normal way, Siren can 'hear' the vibrations of the feet stomping. I know this as while i don't know much ALS as i should my dad who is half deaf from birth always knew when i was coming by my foot steps and such. I actually picked up that neat trick even though i am fully able to hear and can tell who is coming into my home as well as which cats are running around. It would be like Siren would be able to tell who was behind her with just the way that person walks as she has been around them so long.

This is one of the most brutal AG episodes ever. One dude gets knocked out early. The old dude gets pile drivered cranium first intro the ground. The replacement dude gets almost thrown out of the arena into the stands after scoring, the little chick get power slammed ribs first and makes her mom cry in the stands

Human Cannonball was a fun one. At least once they made it two swings and simultaneous play.

POWERBALL is a physically tough event already, normally I wouldn't being seeing how SUPER POWERBALL is any different But those heavy tackles BUZ & CLAUDIA took tell me SUPER POWERBALL is potentially more dangerous

With what we know of CTE and concussions, no way Super Powerball would be an event today. That was brutal.

@@andysee6996 More room on the field means higher speeds/momentum; the collisions and tackles are affected as such, both contender and gladiator. And with an obvious lack of padding and what seemed like a thin-as-heck mat underneath (obviously to allow the contenders to run), it was bound to happen quite a bit, and did do so especially in seasons 3 and 4; both regular AND super powerball. Padding wise you might be able to protect a little better today with the full-body hockey padding that's available, but you really have to watch out for high-momentum charges, clips, and what not, which are still a problem in ice hockey at all levels where checking is permitted.

@Meat Popsicle you do realize that Concussion Awareness/CTE wasn't really a thing until about 8 years AFTER they stopped filming the Original American Gladiators? I remember 1st hearing about CTE in the Army in 2005 to describe injuries from "the blasts" and "being shaken around" in vehicles that lead to in worse case scenarios "Adult Shaken Baby Syndrome." These injuries were "not seen" on as wide of a scale in previous wars due to lesser armor so the injured troops would not have survived but due to modern medicine and improved armor these injuries spiked.

No concussion protocol in this one. I love this show to death but Jezus, that Super Powerball game continuing there was reckless, dude had his head slammed into the ground hard and could hardly walk straight.

Superpower all is so ausome. Laser gave that guy a bulldog into the pavement. I'd say this needs to be a tad safer, but powerball was always rough. They should have kept super powerball.

More people have had to bow out of the show because of Powerball and super powerball than any of the other events combined due to the hard hits and injuries' and it also the one event that the most injuries have happen that doesn't cause the people to bow out. It just a dangerous game but people love it.

Nitro looks good in a suit

This show is great, but if they bring it back today they have to get rid of the concrete floor and provide way more padding and rules on head slams and bashing. Plus educating people on basic wrestling and tackling would probably help avoid injuries.

I did notice that over the season was that the women's outfits changed very much but did stay similar. Changed as they got more revealing without showing anything but stayed the same with the degins as Ice was almost always in a two piece type outfit and Zap almost always had a arm covered.

I cannot believe how Sky fit in that atlassphere of hers. The diameter of these spheres must be her height.

even without knowing about concussions having someone compete at 97lbs is crazy. and power ball was already dangerous enough. Like 3 of the 4 original contestants got severely injured playing and the other two not much better.

I feel sorry for earnest peace being from my home state he did well in the first event before getting injured

When i was in a youth group this was was popular and one of the activies they did was a form of this show minuses a few this. but Assault was always done again modified and while i never was able to hit the bullseyes i was never hit.

Truth be told, 14-year old me back then actually thought the same thing the first time Tower debuted. It was just one day Turbo was there, then suddenly here's Tower and I was like wait, isn't that the same guy?

What was the point on bring back Human Cannonball?! It always did more harm than good towards the Gladiators, and really didn’t show the excitement like the other events. It’s always been my Least Favorite event back then, and it still is today.
