    Its been 2 and a half years. But. Im 95% certain that i installed the same kicker coaxials in my 2003 crew cab, 4door, Silverado. With the original oem factory speaker quick door mounts. And they are very secure and of course FREE.. All four door mountss worked good. If your budget limited. Fyi. You may not need to spend that money on mounts. Put it into higher qaulity speakers.

    Agreed. The OEM brackets that are on the OEM speakers are steel (stronger & sturdier than the flimsy PAC or Metra plastic brackets) and can simply be unscrewed and taken off of the OEM speakers and reused for the aftermarket speakers as long as you are replacing with the same size speakers. At most, you might have to drill a few additional mounting holes in the steel brackets for the aftermarket speaker mounting holes and screws. Just add the thin foam gasket sealing tape to the front & rear of the OEM steel brackets before mounting the aftermarket speakers into the brackets and doors. And cover those small openings around the 4x6 speakers in the rear door sheetmetal with some small Dynamat or other leftover CLD sound deadening scraps or Gorilla/duct tape to help isolate the rear sound waves from the front of the speaker to reduce cancellations and to improve output and clarity.

    I've owned an '05 with OnStar and installed many other radio and speakers in this 99-07.5 body style Chevy truck. The front door speakers are notorious for going out. On the base models per customer approval, because they didn't want to spend $60+ on the wire harness, I would tap into the brown wire on the A/C module for my Acc wire. It's not recommended, but can be done if you're on a budget and not putting additional accessories.

    The best option is getting accessory from the main ignition harness coming from the key harness. Solderer it, fuse it, and run it directly to the radio. I've done this to a lot of Chevys trucks. Takes me less than 10min

    @@Joe020man I've done that and went to the fuse panel prior to knowing about the AC module wire. It saves me time and my customers money. I always advise to use the RAP harness when possible. I can't warranty the acc. Because it possibly can short out other things like the AC module.

    Great install! I recently installed a Pioneer DMH2660NEX and just on deck power alone, it is super loud! My stock stereo (2016 Hyundai Tucson) was so weak. I have not even turned it up above 20 on the volume because it just is so loud my ears ring after. (I changed the speakers to JBL to handle extra power over the OE paper cones) I haven't seen any of this unit installed in your videos yet but hopefully I see one soon or I missed an install with this stereo unit.

    Hey Guys, great job on the video. It was exactly all of the information I was looking for regarding replacement of my radio with an aftermarket double din radio touch screen and backup camera. Anyway, I do have one question. Now my truck is exactly like the one in this video just more beat up (it's a rusted out work truck, and I need music to calm down most of the time! LoL) I have purchased a harness for installing an aftermarket radio but it is not a smart harness and I needed to run a new wire from the ignition fuse to the Red wire for my ACC. (I was told that was what I needed to do) all the color coded wires were connected using heat shrink butt-end connectors then taped. Now, I already knew the front speakers were blown, but the rear speakers worked completely fine with the first radio I bought but when I upgraded to the touch screen first I barely got any sound even when it was turned to max volume. Then when I got some speakers given to me I tried them and now I can not get ANY sound whatsoever! Do you have any ideas or ways to test and make sure I just need speakers before I go getting speakers and they still don't produce any sound or even worse end up blowing all the brand new speaker's? Any kind of help with this is tremendously appreciated! Thank you!!

    With or without amps? Because you have to do a lot to get nice clean strong mid bass out of 6.5s, even cheap 6.5's. Amplification with correct tune, sound deadening, and fast rings.

  • @bbfoto7248

    @bbfoto7248

    @Courtnee Edwards First you'll have to find out which speakers will actually fit in your vehicle (especially in terms of mounting depth) before that question can be answered...unless you are willing to pay for custom fabrication and installation. We would also need to know what your BUDGET is for the speakers...In other words, what speakers provide the best midbass at a particular price point? Are you willing to spend $200, $400, or $500+? *Usually* a dedicated midbass speaker in a 3-way component set will offer the best midbass output. But if setup and tuned properly, a good subwoofer can be used to supplement the midbass frequencies in both a 2-way or 3-way setup. Check out the video on the *Erin's Audio Corner* KZread channel titled *Using your Subwoofer to Improve Your Midbass* I also agree with @Panamera Ghost that the Quality of the installation (sound deadening, solid speaker mounting baffles, etc.), and good, clean amplifier power will make a big difference no matter what speakers you choose. We can't really tell you what is BEST for you without knowing your Budget and what vehicle it is/what speakers will fit. But if you can afford them, the Audiofrog GB60 6.5" provide excellent midbass (and midrange), as do the Gladen Aerospace and Focal Flax 6.5". The Alpine X-type 6.5" and 6x9" components are excellent as well. On the slightly less expensive range, Pioneer components usually provide solid midbass, as well as the TOTL Sony GS 2-way & 3-way components. It's a different conversation if you are willing to spend big money on the high-end esoteric brands and custom installation.

    I have a question about my pioneer DEH 5000bt. So I’ve had it for almost 3 years with no issues but now it has trouble holding a Bluetooth connection or just won’t connect at all. It will usually connect to my phone after the radio turns on but it drops the connection after a couple of minutes and it will just say connecting even when there’s no Bluetooth device in range, how could I fix this?

  • @tuffytoys9707

    @tuffytoys9707

    I'm not as good as Dean and Fernando but I have seen instances of that same bluetooth connection problem. Check your radio ground wire and make sure its clean and not rusted or otherwise and check continuity to the radio. Also it could be that the MIc Wire is grounding out by being squeezed or is rubbing against metal somewhere. Finally if those don't solve the issue then replace the radio or if it has a firmware update try that.
