I've got the 1st gen Protection and Defense from 2019 when it $200 plus tax. While I was in DL Galaxy's Edge on opening day, I didn't do the experience then due to the four hour time limit in the area. I did it a couple months later. They were out of a couple of the top and bottom pieces when I went. The pieces I picked were supposed to line up but were off. It is on the heavy side and it can be used in self defense. I was watching some of the videos after reopening, it appears there was a slight update to the 1st gen pieces since they lined up much better. I don't have any of the 2nd gen pieces, but I have watched some videos after all four lines were updated. The pieces line up much better than the 1st gen pieces. And some names added to crystal users who weren't mentioned in 2019. It looks like you can buy extra pieces the day it's built. Originally, you could buy extra pieces in 2019 but there was a shortage and it stopped.

I didn't know you're allowed to buy extra pieces when the day you build it! I wish I had done that, haha. I definitely want to do the experience a third time at some point and try a different design style, maybe the Protection and Defense like you have. If you ever go back and do it again with the updated pieces, definitely check back and let me know your opinion on the updated version!

Hey quick question. If I ordered a neopixle blade for the hilt of the saber will it still work even though it's from a different company?

Great question! Unfortunately, unless the lightsaber hilt is wired for neopixel use, a neopixel blade will not work in a Galaxy's Edge lightsaber. Unfortunately, the connection points are different. But if you want an affordable neopixel lightsaber, I would suggest looking up Imperial workshop! They have neopixel sabers starting around $160

I’m not surprised but I am both annoyed and disappointed that Disney is putting out an inferior saber then just about every other third party manufacturer

Yeah, it is unfortunate that the price tag is so high and the finished product is not necessarily as nice as even the Legacy lightsaber hilts. But when you do it, you still are mostly doing it for the experience over the finished product. At least now, from a design standpoint, I think the lightsaber is more worth it than it was
