    Completely agree. And also when motoring programmes where actually about the cars and not about the presenters. Now TV motoring programmes both on TV and on various KZread channels are more focused on the likes of Clarkson, Hammond, May and that Wheeler Dealers really tall grey fuzzy haired Edd China where it's just the usual 2002 Top Gear era style of childish babble and talking about why Edd China decided to leave or why Clarkson made some stupid remark and became controversial and all the irrelevant rubbish. These motoring presenters are idolised for some strange reason. Why are people so obsessed with Jeremy Clarkson, James May, Richard Hammond and Edd China for?. Noone was bothered about Quentin Willson, Tony Mason, Steve Berry, William Woollard or Chris Goffey where they?.

    Why haven't reversing cameras really taken off in the UK? Given the smaller car parks and generally tighter spaces, I would have thought they would have trickled down to all cars by now. I certainly could have used one in the little Hyundai I hired when I was there this past January (pre-Coronavirus)... In the US, these cameras have been mandated in all cars for a few years and I think they are a truly a useful safety and convenience device.

  • @aidan1585

    @aidan1585

    4 жыл бұрын

    1. They are expensive for a small cheap car 2. People like parking sensors more because in the UK people look at their mirrors more (and thats safer) and parking sensors tell you exactly how far you are away from hitting something. 3. In a car where they are no infotainment screen they cannot put in a reversing camera.

  • @RoadCone411

    @RoadCone411

    4 жыл бұрын

    Aidan Sheehan jr That’s fair. The Hyundai I hired didn’t even have parking sensors but then again it was an inexpensive, small car as you alluded to. It wasn’t bare bones, mind you, with otherwise typical Hyundai ‘luxuries’ like cruise control, air con and power windows all around. I think cameras are better than sensors and allow you to see what is behind the vehicle (children playing, for example) but of course you shouldn’t rely on that alone, as I am sure many people do.

  • @aidan1585

    @aidan1585

    4 жыл бұрын

    BloomingOnion You can see a child playing in your rear view mirrors. People don’t like Toyotas that constantly beep and have no front or rear parking sensors and just a camera. So other company’s will keep a reversing camera and front and rear parking sensors.

  • @RoadCone411

    @RoadCone411

    4 жыл бұрын

    Aidan Sheehan jr Every year, dozens of children in the US die because they are reversed over. In many cases, a camera showing directly behind the vehicle (especially in a SUV or hatchback) is ideal but I suppose beeping sensors help too. My car has both - blind spot and rear motion detection beeping as well as a camera. Now that I have them, I would always want both on any new car.
