    Just experienced that mystery problem. I lost six rubber nosed, bristle nosed plecos and some octo cats. Thanks for the video.

    This is usually only a problem for old school aquarists that use a very deep substrate

    That's why once or twice a month I stir up my sand really good.

    i have Malaysian Trumpet Snails, i believe they do a good job stirring the gravel all the time, what do you think? thanks for the video

    Another good tip is to keep a healthy population of nassarius snails which will keep turning over the sand gradually over a long period of time. Also as a first aid, if you see the fish dying because of the hydrogen sulphide, you can pour in some Prime or Aquavitro Alpha.

    Nasarious snails need food to live , I don't wonna have to spot feed my snails in order to stir the sand bed tho . I have a couple nasarious which do live but if I were to throw 10 in today , not good.
