You guys rock!!!....Fantastic production!!!.....This is definitely something I'm going to try......... I've been "collecting" a handful of KZread dance exercise videos that look like fun (and hence something I'd actually DO) and I've always thought learning a step or two from powwow dances looked like it would be extremely fun. I'm part Native American, but most likely with ancestry from northern Mexico so not sure if they practiced this sort of awesome footwork.....Anyway, I'm ready to try ALL your videos!

I'm a fancy shawl dancer. Fancy shawl is a much more recent dance style, so fancy footwork like this wasn't necessarily what women did dancing in the past. If your ancestry is from Mexico you may want to research Aztec dancing as Aztec dance is alive and well! Many aztec dance groups perform at powwows and their footwork is incredible!

Always hate it when people say this. The Lands had no name before Europeans came here, so they aren't 'The REAL American People'. Most names the tribes/Nations had for themselves simply meant 'The People', and they didn't have a name for the Land. As far as 'Native American', our ancestors only arrived before the Europeans, across the Landbridge from Asia Thousands of years ago, so not technically Native either, as we didn't develop here, just migrated.

Thom Clark fuck. God damn it. I am so fucking sick and tired of white immigrants always using that land bridge theory bull shit all the time.. When scumbags like yourself have never even heard of old crow flats in NWT, Canada.....that place will debunk your educated guess....the whole land bridge theory is one big educated guess with no real proof....now tell me why do whites always use that excuse for stealing Native land?!? Remember America lied and never kept the Treaties with the Natives... Yet Canada has and did kept the Treaties with the Natives and Inuits.... Now tell me how we are suppose to believe anything Americans say when they have never kept their word with the Natives?!? Or course they'll look for more lies to cover their other lies.....

Thom Clark BTW Canada is a native word for "village" or " settlement"..just because America is not a native word doesn't mean Canada is too....hell, Canada still has 634 First Nations Native Tribes and that's not including Inuits and Metis (mixed Natives with Europeans).....

My grandparent’s land was separated from the “Indian Village” where pow wows were performed on weekends in summer. My Osage best friend tried to get me to dance with but I was too shy. I had always been told that we had Cherokee blood but I really wasn’t sure until I got into genealogy a few years ago. It’s true.
