OLD Spaghetti MRE vs. NEW Spaghetti MRE
Ойын-сауық
Comparing Spaghetti MREs. One is 15 years older than the other. Which comes put on top? We also compare the sides, including Coffees, Ramen Noodles, Strawberry/Banana Shake, Cherry/Blueberry Cobbler, and Cheese.
Plus a few more sides make quite a comparison.

i was a U.S. Army Infantryman from 2005 - 2009.. we were in Iraq in 2007, one time they had our platoon stay in a safehouse for 30 days in the middle of the city. we were mostly living off of MREs with a little chow hall food they'd convoy out to us. i ate the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce MRE probably 20 out of those 30 days.. all i wanted was the main & the cheese. i'd heat them up, squeeze the cheese into the spaghetti, and "enjoy" lol.

@ericluckstef6616 hey are you the Eric from Alaska that sent him the MREs? If so can I purchase a few from you?
When I was in the Marines I went on a 6 month UDP to Okinawa. While we were there, we spent 1 month in Hokkaido, Japan for a field op and we were given cold weather MREs cause it was the middle of January with 4+ feet of snow and freezing temps. The cold weather MREs were the bomb. The Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Spicy Oriental with Rice were my favorites.

I’m stationed in Alaska in the army, we have the cold weather meals because the regular ones freeze in the winter when it goes below zero, last year when I went to jpmrc I loved the cold weather mre’s they over all taste better than the old ones, we would eat the whole meal besides the main when doing stuff then when we had time to boil water we would eat the main, also we would hoard hot sauce because I lot of people don’t use it and I would always carry around a can a lawry’s season salt for all my meals.

Spaghetti MRE was one of my favorites, as long as I could have some cheese spread and Tabasco
In the early 90's while in the USMC also my favorite was the corned beef & hash with the bottle of tabasco sauce... I always looked for someone to trade with until I got one. I'm still hooked on it today. The one I didn't like was the Ham and egg omelet, but it was still nutrition.

The less-sugar more-water drink mix from the accessory pack is sugar-free flavoring (literally Crystal Lite), to explain the difference in volume. All the extra powder in the electrolye-carbohydrate drink mix is, unsurprisingly, electrolytes and carbohydrates.

My dad got his fill of soft pasta in the army, so any pasta in my house was al dente or he did not ate it, so I don´t think I would enjoy any of these much, but I would eat it if I was hungry enough😅 (good thing my mom likes pasta al dente too). But both meals show an interesting contents, and the raisins have always been a staple in MREs around here, alongside the nuts, usually peanuts, wallnuts, fava beans (dried and salted), and chick peas (also dried and salted).
@MeAncient

Joao, I can imagine getting your fill of several menu items while active duty. TFW!
I usually mix the Cheese sauce and Tabasco into the spaghetti.
Mountain house is in Franklin NC
When I was in between 88-95 Spaghetti was #5. I always tried to get that one. Cheese spread, crackers or bread and a chocolate covered cookie bar. I would mix the taster’s choice coffee with the sugar , creamer, and the cocoa. It was dynamite!
I served in West Germany in the late 70s to the 80's in the US Army. We were still eating what we called C-Rats on FTX's. Actually they were MCI ( Meal Combat Individual ) . C Rats with no cigs. I generally liked them as long as you had a way to heat those cans . You did not want to get Spaghetti and Meat Balls in a can in dead of German winter and have to eat it cold. Fortunately we had a Track Stove to heat our meals and make coffee.

This video will attract a lot of vets. Like me, haha. So, my unit did a lot of cold weather stuff. And I liked the lack of heaviness to the dry freeze dried food. Mountain house sells whole cans of lasagna, spaghetti, oh man, if anyone actually actually camped anymore, or wasn't afraid of the outdoors, I'd gladly share. I feel like the only one who gets to shit grin, eating all this amazing food. And mountain house is actually who the army used to buy it from,

I loved those canteen cups, God forbid when we went to the field if you forgot to bring that... Sometimes we didn't get MREs but we got "Hot-Wets" It was soup - and HOT on a cold winter day and that canteen is what we used to get it in the field. Tabasco would be great on the Raman and the OLD spaghetti is the BEST!
