    It's better than the buzzers they put in the trucks now

    funny how this was mentioned right after i watched one of there videos. yeah, if it wasnt for them then this would have confused me. though i agree with everyone in the comments both on this video and edison motors' video. seems a whole hell of a lot more pleasant than a buzzer

    @@thegreygoose7833 probably why it was recommended cause that's how I got here after having watched them. It's literally just saving a few bucks per truck but I guess most companies care more Abt it than having a good product

    Better than a damn buzzer

  • @liamchilver1691
    @liamchilver169111 ай бұрын

    People often ignore buzzers and chimes because they're just something that's seen as annoying. Even if it's something like a seat belt warning chime that only requires you to put the belt on to stop it. This actually gets right into your line of sight and moves around, making it impossible to ignore once it comes down

    Awesome video, it’s 2022 and we still have wig wag questions on the CDL permit test in PA, I had no idea what it was lol

    I really REALLY miss factory wig wags! I blew a air line once, and just was in left lane large car mode! Couldn’t hear anything over the 8” stacks running a 3408 in a 359 Pete. No ac so had the windows down rolling. Ever forget to look at your gauges? Happened to me… All of a sudden the buttons popped! I quickly mashed em back in, threw the truck in Georgia overdrive and tached her out at 2k and proceeded to coast 9 miles. Eventually I got her stopped, but broke a few cows legs in the process. Felt like a rookie after nearly 13 years!

    I first learned of these when I got my CDL study book in Mississippi back 10 years ago, (passed written test first try and got permit, but couldn’t go further because I had no access to an actual rig to finish test😞). Anyways, I thought this was cool asf, it’s much better than the ear r4ping beeps these International trucks at my current airport job torture us with because our owners are too cheap to get the airlines fixed

    Honestly, I’d rather have one of these in my truck. Something about the antique look of it is way cooler than a normal low pressure warning system!

    Should be relatively easy to retrofit one even in modern trucks. Just need a tap off of the primary air lines that feed the foot valve or park brake and a small line running from the dash to the overhead.

  • @gm16v149

    I’ve got one in my 1980 cabover KW and it works fine. It isn’t exposed like that, it drops down through a slot in the overhead console. The truck’s got a low air light on the dash as well.

  • @robgm6926

    Yeah I drove 74 KW cab over that had one of those. And noticed a lot of folks saying they're on school buses.. When I was going to school that weren't any school buses with air brakes around here. But I did notice you can buy new ones made by stemco. I saw them on a bus parts supplier website.

    Sadly I am dating myself but I think at 60 psi? they will drop. We had them on all air brake equipment when I started. Better than a blame buzzer. Now days you fart in the seat buzzer's will start going off. That back when they made tough equipment. Yes I drove a 35 ton rock Tk on a milk crate before all shift long.
