This video and mega mix is dedicated to all pioneers of Hip Hop Culture from the East Coast to the West Coast from 1967 - 1985. We thank you for everything you have created for us. We also thank you for showing the world that creativity, ingenuity, inspiration, practicality, and perseverance with limited resources can shock the world... quell racism...and eventually construct peace.
Enjoy!
A Man Without History is a Tree Without Roots.

We just brought back the original recipe to how a megamix is suppose to sound like. This is an old school formula of layering, cutting, phasing, mixing, and edits. I hope we get to hear this formula again one day from the new jacks.
we had you in mind when we created this. This is a tribute to you and everyone else who loves and lives the culture. It is a gift.
The greatest old school video on KZread period. Sent chills down my back as this is what hip hop was and will sadly never be again. Bullshit rap today should be kissing the ground old school broke for them. Old school forever!
Never stop, never quit, never die...from the barrios to the red bricks and the shanty towns to the hill tops and the shores abroad...we all gotta keep this joint rockin on!
This is what real Hip Hop music sounds like. It is filled with passion and funk.
the old school...the 80, the best.
Peace to Cocoa 125! Believe me, when me and the crew made this joint we honestly had you in mind. All of the pioneers and the people of Hip Hop before 1985 were in our hearts for this dedication. Without you there would have been no Golden Age or evolution of the culture. Peace!
this is where my mind goes when I dream of the Hip Hop that inspires my soul!
Thank you, Brotha. Remember, it ain't just about the Old School, but it is what make the Old School and True School Hip Hop culture. It is about being transparent, being real, being about people, and about real life. It was always about making something out of nothing and getting out of bad situations, and not glorifying materialism. We make money-not money make us!
Man, do I miss these days! Thanks for sharing this, Scholar!
These where the good times for HIP HOP and not the shit they play today...!!! Really cool Video and a really head busting Mix...!!! I whana hear and see more...!!!
K Boogie, thank you! Brother we are connected by Hip Hop roots. We at Old School Scholar are thrilled by engaging with the love of our nation of Hip Hop. I hope one day we will have a Hip Hop festival like the original WoodStock. Just peace and funk for a whole weekend. That way we can treat it like a family reunion because we are family.
REAL HIP HOP WILL NEVER DIE!!! Classic Beats, rhymes and rhythms are classic for a reason. *justsayin*
That is a good question. As soon as I get that outline from our DJ, I can get you that answer in detail. And yes, all tracks you hear ARE on original vinyl. Not even reprints btw. The best way to protect vinyl for many years is to keep them packed tight for zero stress; to inspect your needles; keep the vinyl clean from finger oil and other residues; and to balance and lock your turntable arms. You never want too much weight coming from a needle. Thanks for the props, Brotha!
I'm glad I got kicked out the crib from Down-south to go back home in'77....Just in time for HIPHOP...NY STYLE!....
hi from france, thanks to all those great artists, life without their music to listen to would not be the same to me.......
Big Ups to the DJ...Diggin' Your Old School Vibe Here!
For all you fools claiming that 90's Hip Hop is Old Skool, think again. Do your research incase you weren't even around at the time of the real Old Skool!! Late 70's-80's=OLD SKOOL!!!!!!!

I'm sure that industry has progressed from 70s-90s rap of course its much different but 90s and 70s beats are old-school compared to the ear bleeding trap/drill that's on the market now, that shit isn't even rap.

What about Early 1970's? That's ol' skool as well.
Nothin like ORIGINALITY.
Them Boys from the BX take no slack, we need them brothas coming back with the boom bap! Thank you for coming out and showing some love!
Thank you Brother. We stand united with our passions. Hip Hop is life and not death. The real school speaks.
REAL MUSIC, REAL HIP HOP, respect from Italy...lovin' the old school!
We are keeping the real school, all school of Hip Hop alive, and we are not alone! Peace!
Wow. When I went to New York for the 1st time ever which was last year, I was listening to this video and I just had to tear up as I was driving through beautifully bombed buidings. I could of sworn I was alive during the golden decade of the beautiful hip-hop culture.

Whole world goes shitter and shitter since 2000
BTW the cadence you heard before the Jay Z and Epmd vocals was by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5 called "Superrappin'". A live band was simulating the bassline of "Seven Minutes of Funk" which was due before Hip Hop music starting recording samples. "Superrappin'" can be found on Enjoy Records.
This is when music was real and dance battles were fun. I'm old school and these were the days.
Thorough for the most part.. and most definitely a classy piece. Formative, Trueschool, and Oldschool will never die.
My MAN!!! Wow.. I could NOT take my eyes off this vid! As i watched this vid I was smiling and singing along with EVERY track!!! Made me realize how far Hip Hop has come, how long I've lived and how connected I've been to this culture!! Thanks homie! TOTALLY made my day! HUGE props on the production!!
We must share these roots and pass it down. The next generation are hungry for this.
I'm a 25 yr old start up dj. To do this would be my dream. For me this is absolutely amazing. I'd pay to learn greatness like this.
KRS One said it best: "Rap is something you DO... Hip Hop is something you Live." Hip Hop culture was born from urban plight with the influence of other cultural forms of expression. Hip Hop music speaks for and from the culture. Rap music is music based on the sake of rhyming. Yet, Rapping is an elemental aesthetic in Hip Hop music. Ultimately Hip Hop consists of Rap, but Rap does not consist of Hip Hop.
Respect given and Respect received. All true school, all school heads should stay connected and unite our voices. Our consciousness is the authenticity of Hip Hop culture and music. Peace.
Oldschool Forever. I will never forget what they've done. this ultimate music. i love it.
This is the best megamix of old school rap that I heard!!! Compliments!!! Greetings from Rome!!!

Tell your peoples that this video is dedicated to them as well as yourself. We put the effort in this joint and website to promote the passion and love for the Hip Hop Culture AND its people. We are serious about this. No hype. We were thinking about the original brothers and sisters, like yourself, you started this. I am personally honored that it took you back in the day...and today we are back from that way!
OG, we are STILL there with that vibe and flavor. Remember we got to pass that passion and culture down to the shorties. The graff writers got it! The Bboys got it! The DJs still burn it! But the emcees forgot. We got to save the MCs. We need more new cats like People Under The Stairs, Murs, and Chali2na. We need more Em, De La Soul, Mos Def, and KRS.
Takes me back to 1980s where I used breakdance in my teens,Great times
I want the good old days back, you know, like when i wasn't born.
Thanks. We must bring back the fun. We are all still very young.
No doubt. Timeless for those who never forgot their roots. This is the essence of Hip Hop culture and music. I hope you been to our site. This mix is a free download.

@ThePublicEnemyNo1 Thanks, Brother! We represent the Wild Wild West. You brothers have been taking the MC crown for the past several years with Murs, Jurassic, Heiros, and People Under The Stairs. Graff writers and B-Boys have been rocking the world for some time now too! Let us not get start on giving the DJs props! West Coast has been ruling tradition non stop!

Greatness comes from working with what you got. Your faithfulness with very little will truly define your success and greatness when you achieve working with alot. The only thing you need to pay is time, patience, creativity, experimenting, passion, and fun. Then share it with the world that waits for you!
Thank you Donimma. Our crew of four had a blast. We are in the business of blessing the masses like how we use to do it back in the day! Peace.
