learned that dubstep originally wasn’t the loud wobbly dance kind of genre that it is seen as today and had to hear what it was like before. It’s basically unrecognizable, but it’s super nice :] would love to see this kind of dubstep revived

Yeah. It used to be half time2 step/uk garage, reggeau, dub mixt genre. Then it became tesr out. Then the kids made it into an electronic genre. And become something totally different

this stuff does have wobbles, new stuff is more mid to high range ear rape stuff. also this type of dubstep is still a thing just a lot more underground, check out the Deep Dark and Dangerous label, DUPLOC on youtube, and check out the group Ternion Sound
god bless these scenes of music. god bless the good people keeping them alive.

Old school dubstep and modern Dubstep/Brostep are two completely different genres both of which I like. Anyway I am glad you know the difference between the two, keep on mixing.
I like The dubstep from today as well as The old dubstep 👌
Too bad the majority of people think "dubstep" is the same as "brostep", because they are missing out on great stuff. I'm sick of this confusion 'cause I always get laughed at when I say that I listen to dubstep.

CarelessFacepalm That's a very bold statement to say, isn't it? Shitty music exists in every genre, and you'll find good stuff in every genre as well.
@danermanerkider

RhythmAddictedState This is simply not mainstream dubstep, this is for a niche audience like ourselves. Most people just wont know of this music or think this is Dubstep, because the Dubstep that is played on TV and mainstream radio, etc. is usually Brostep or Post-Dubstep by the big producers like Skrillex, Nero, UKF, etc. and as a result, that is what most people hear and associate with Dubstep. If you dont want to get mocked when you say that you listen to dubstep (im sure it happens to many of us here), just instead tell them you listen to electronic music or something. If they are a better friend, just explain to them its a "different kind of dubstep."
@RhythmAddictedState
8 жыл бұрын
danermanerkider Yeah, I guess it would be wiser to tell them it's a "different" kind of dubstep, instead of saying "No, this is *duuubstep* I'lm talking about, not *brooostep* " (it's a pit we can easily fall into). This misunderstanding is still pretty irritating though; it's like saying that England equals the UK.

Imagine growing up hearing this called old school and being here in 2022 still slapping this xD
This shit still slaps after more than a decade what a legend Cheers

You prolly know this by now, but use a program called mixed in key to find similar keys of tracks, and EQ out the low end if you're bringing in another tracks low end. Same with hi end. Add + Subtract when mixing together
I miss this kind of stuff, dubstep was intended to be a genre that was underground, it was not intended for big market and sellouts, the very same reasons why Skream stopped producing dubstep. Dupstep or what they call dubstep now days has been downgraded to producers and listeners waiting for the next big drop and douchey kids waiting to add the next big track to their call of duty no scopes video.

There's a lot of crap among today's, "evolved" dubstep, so to say, but there are some pretty neat tracks out there, too... It's just that the mainstream crap is flooding the.. eh..market(!?), so you actually have to dig through it all to find really awesome tracks / mixes.
@MassReflux

the dubstep now is not dubstep its brostep although I do like brostep more dubstep is good and more relaxed I hate the fact when you type dubstep and its all brostep so you need to type old school dubstep to find stuff like this

Good stuff! Sounds kind of like an early Hatcha set. My kind of dubstep! Raw, step-y, and not too heavy handed on the wub-wub!
ребята спасибо, я в этом миксе нашел трэк который искал целых 5 лет!
Cyrus - In da background is not for the faint hearted..
oh my god! ive been looking for this for old sound i remember for a while now. i try to find it in dancehall, dubstep, dub, techno etc. i finally just searched "90s dubstep" and i think i have it now

it felt great to hear tracks you always listen to on this "Old school" dubstep mix honestly it the only type of dubstep i know..
There is a big difference between deep medi dubstep and stateside dubstep (brostep). Be glad you know the difference.
@ashketchum9361

You realize the sounds we have now aren't just stateside right? Don't get me wrong there are some shit producers now but its not all bad. If you haven't yet definitely give the Widdler, Badklaat, Requake, or even Liquid Stranger a listen (specifically his interchill).

But rusko doesn't live here... And the sound may have morphed but that didn't stop the creation of good deep medi music. It just means there is more music overall, some of it you may like and most of it you won't, like all art.

BillBuchananFtw I respect all those guys, no matter what kind of dubstep they produce. Excision is extremely talented and wouldn't be at the caliber he is today if he wasn't, same goes for every other producer playing big gigs.

me here looking up classic dubstep.........
..rien à dire . au top.
why does this only have 11k views. Awesome mate ur keeping up the oldskool vibes. like it alot.
THAT is what I call dubstep. and a playlist is also included. = GREAT
this is spot on mate perfect song choices.
I was searching for dubstep, man, u delivered
finally a guy on youtube that knows something about real dubstep
I've been looking for this music for years. Damn you KZread algorithym. So much I have missed.
Brilliant mix my brother, old school for the win, i mix allot of old school and this mix is insane, put some more up!! You got some talent.
Great tracks, I just keep coming back for them ^^
7:30 waaaaahhhhh, siiick!!! Missed this sound
nah; jar of pasta for eye! solid soul'd out... om...
This is the best dub mix I ever heard,keep smashing brother !!!
I wouldn't know what dubstep WAS, let alone who the artists are or what they sound like if not for hearing it on KZread. There's approximately a 300% better chance I'll ever buy any of these because they're on KZread. It's the new, internet world. The record companies better keep up, or they'll go bankrupt. Will artists make millions for their music any more? I don't know, but it won't hurt anything if they don't. A living is all they need to make; many artists died penniless yet legendary.
very refreshing nice choice of tracks
we're yellin but definitely not at you!!! 😎😁😍
this is my favorite track right now!!! I love working out to this!!!

selection is tremendous!! would love to hear how you'd approach this mix now, 9 years on
dude this is actually awesome!!!! keep it comin!
it is a good mix :) i'm a starter too and i used to use virtual dj as well, but now i use fl studio and everything is just much better. fl studio gives you the time to correct mistakes in your mix without having to record all over again.

I’ll be honest, I’m a Dupstep fan, a huge one, you sorta can’t blame me as I listed to a ton of it as a kid and now I’m addicted to it, but listening to what the roots of Dubstep were like, my god, it’s nothing I’ve never heard before, it’s a very expressive, creepy and beautiful style of music, it’s sorta of a shame that people think that dubstep is all loud and stupid sounding (I still love it though), I must say, after a couple of months of slowly working my way through this mix, I’m a fan of both styles, thank you for creating this beautiful, masterful mix of tracks
G mate, this is some good stuff! Realy enjoy listening! Keep it up!

MY EARS ARE BLEEDING
Went to sleep listening to this last night :)
I kinda agree with you in the part of supporting independent artists but if you try to buy let's say DMZ 001 you know you'll have to spend like 200€ on a second-hand disc and that's not very accessible. I myself am an avid vinyl buyer and so far i've spent a small fortune on discs but there are some tracks that i'm sorry but i cannot afford it so i download them and play them on cd. As i said early the part of supporting independent artist you are 100% correct.
2021 здесь!
10:58 What is this song?
your newbie skills on this mix match the genre you chose. Matches the early MP3 era ideas.

nice
Nice playlist, that's all i can say
thanks for the songs man. When you transition, try to push play on the next track, then sync it to the same tempo. make sure both tracks play at the same time (so you get a continuous beat going) and then fade to the new one at the right time. Hope I helped
