I didn't play, nor did I compose this song. Neither do I know where this particular version is from. I remember it's from some Turkish orchestra.
"Expectation" (Russian: ожидание) is a melancholy and solemn waltz composed in 1980 by Herold Lavrentievich Kittler.
The origin of this piece is nebulous, as many Klezmer orchestras know this song as a Jewish piece and plenty of Russians claim this is a Soviet Army song. An even less well known song that goes by the name Awaiting uses the same melody with Russian lyrics. The original version of the song was written in F Minor and B♭ minor while the Klezmer version for the accordion and clarinet is in D Minor or E Minor. Expectation is mostly made of minor notes along with relative minor thirds and sub-4th octaves, adding to its solemnity.
This piece has been featured in many places, such as the Russian film "The Optimistic Tragedy" and a famous Klezmer player Dave Tarras' album Freilach in Hi-Fi. Most of these appearances do not list the true song's name. However, plenty of sheet music appears online for the song, mainly for accordion.

There is a slow-walz version of this Expectations sang by Estonian singer Georg Ots. Beautiful and very emotional. Now I have tried to find it played instrumentally and in the same tempo here in the KZread, but with no luck. -- Perhaps some good, sinfonic orchestra would like to make a good try and give us such, now that I mention it here. The version by Georg Ots is sang in Finnish, and has name "Kaikki alkoi sinun kanssasi". - But, "Expectations" would be a good name for the one we now start looking forward to find it one day soon here in the KZread.

Beautiful waltz. so sentimental. Almost every time I go into you tube I listen to this. Damn, I wish I could find this on Amazon! The band version is not as emotional.
This just straight up brings up the beauty of all the Slavs.

It's a version of 'Expectation' by Nikolai Sergeyev, Separate Exemplary Orchestra of USSR Defence Ministry.
It brings a lot of memories when I lived in Russia . Loved this waltz then and still love it now . Spasibo .
